CDC: 94 to 95 Percent of 2011 HIV Cases Among Young Men Linked to Homosexual Sex

A graphic from a CDC (Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, ( http://www.lifesitenews.com/news/cdc-94-to-95-percent-of-hiv-cases-among-boys-and-young-men-linked-to-gay-se?utm_source=LifeSiteNews.com+Daily+Newsletter&utm_campaign=5e8eaa5d04-LifeSiteNews_com_US_Headlines_06_19_2013&utm_medium=email&utm_term=0_0caba610ac-5e8eaa5d04-326232694 ) online slide presentation, “HIV Surveillance in Adolescents and Young Adults” [1] – breaks down the incidence of HIV among young men ages 13-24.

In 2011, an astonishing 94.9 percent of HIV diagnoses among teenage boys (13-19-years-old) were linked to homosexual (“male-to-male”) sex.
And 94.1 percent of the cases among young men ages 20-24 (more analysis below) were from all types of sex.

With the incidence of HIV among men so closely tied to homosexual sex, shouldn’t the government and all concerned and compassionate adults be urging young men and teenaged boys NOT to engage in or experiment with dangerous homosexual behavior?
And yet, the CDC and other pro-”gay” institutions (including many schools public and private) are doing exactly the opposite, as they focus instead on affirming “gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender” youth as a “sexual minority.”

Another CDC document, “HIV and Young Men Who Have Sex with Men” (June 2012), reports that in 2011, the CDC awarded funds to two homosexual activists groups — the Gay, Lesbian, and Straight Education Network (GLSEN) and the Gay-Straight Alliance Network (GSAN) — “to assist CDC-funded public health and environmental changes to help schools and communities meet the health and medical needs of lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender youth.” See this CNSNews article on the CDC grant.

With HIV rates growing among YMSM (young men who have sex with men), the CDC’s focus on building self-esteem among LGBT youth and creating a “positive school climate” for homosexuals — includes forming such affirming clubs in schools — seems disconnected from reality.
The aforementioned CDC report on HIV and YMSM states:

"Gay-straight alliances (GSAs) are one approach being used to create safe and welcoming school environments. Research has shown that in schools with support groups such as GSA’s, lesbian, gay and bisexual students were less likely to experience threats of violence, miss school because they felt unsafe, or attempt suicide than those in schools without such groups."

In the same report, the CDC identifies the behaviors among young homosexuals that are causing the escalating HIV rates:

A CDC analysis of date from 13 YRBS [Youth Risk Behavior Survey] sites found that sexual minority students, especially those who identified as homosexual or bisexual, were disproportionately likely to engage in many health risk behaviors, including sexual risk behaviors (such as having sexual intercourse for the first time at younger ages, having multiple sex partners, and not using condoms); tobacco, alcohol, and other drug use; and behaviors related to attempted suicide.

Elsewhere in the CDC report it touts CDC funding for “school health professionals…to help them understand the needs of lesbian, gay, and bisexual youth and shape behavioral messages accordingly.”
But those behavioral messages apparently do NOT include discouraging students from engaging in this very risky homosexual sex.

The chasm between the obvious and extreme health risks associated with homosexual male sex and the CDC’s politically correct, pro-homosexuality mindset reflects public policy malpractice on an Orwellian scale.

Homosexual activist ideology and assumptions — including bi/transgender identities — go unquestioned at the CDC.

Ironically, the most direct answer to the HIV-youth crisis — teaching young people NOT to practice unhealthy homosexual sex — is the one thing that is essentially forbidden.

All across America, these activists and their straight liberal allies are advocating lesson plans and strategies in response to anti-homosexual bullying. However, while everyone can agree that all bullying is wrong, many “anti-bullying” programs double as pro-LGBT affirmation programs. This is troubling because: 1) bullying can be discouraged with neutral messaging that does not promote “out and proud” homosexuality and transgenderism; and 2) in the name of “safety,” educators and cultural elites are advocating a sexual lifestyle that has continually been shown to be dangerous, particularly for males.

Bans on Homosexual Promotion Advance Despite Western Outrage

Eastern European countries are following Russia’s lead to protect children by curbing advocacy for “non-traditional” sexual acts.
Homosexual groups are reacting furiously.

Last month Moldova passed a law prohibiting the distribution of information “aimed at the propagation of prostitution, pedophilia, pornography or of any other relations than those related to marriage or family.” Lithuania recently adopted a similar law, and Ukraine’s legislature is reportedly considering the same.

The laws are designed to protect minors from graphic information that may lead them to unhealthy choices at a delicate age. Russia’s law, adopted in June, fines individuals and organizations for promoting “non-traditional” sexual behavior among children.

Homosexual advocacy groups like Human Rights Watch say these laws violate international and European human rights standards.
Proponents say the laws are narrowly tailored and only limit freedom of speech in so far as necessary to protect children.

Homosexuality is not criminalized in Russia or Eastern European countries, as it was under communism. But citizens are worried about glamorizing unhealthy lifestyles without considering the effect that may have on minors.

The homosexual lifestyle, in particular, is associated wit

h a host of health risks.
Individuals who engage in homosexual activity are 18 times more likely to contract HIV/AIDS than persons who don’t.
They are at higher risk for other sexually transmitted diseases, substance abuse, depression, and suicide.

The laws have been on the books in some Russian states for nearly a decade. National legislatures began enacting them this year, after President Obama ordered all U.S. agencies dealing with foreign affairs to promote lesbian, homosexual, bisexual and transgender rights, and established a fund for foreign LGBT groups to agitate within their countries. At that same time, British Prime Minister David Cameron threatened to cut aid to countries that have laws penalizing sodomy…

Activists hoping to tap into anti-religious sentiment in the West have blamed the Russian Orthodox Church for promoting the laws. But the growing influence of the Orthodox Church, however significant, is not enough to explain the swift passage of these laws where they enjoy popular support.

In Russia, a recent Pew poll found only 16% believe homosexuality should be socially acceptable.

Russia enacted its national law despite UN human rights experts condemning a similar regional law earlier this year. In June the Council of Europe expressed its concern with Russia’s new law, especially its effect on homosexual events. These events are notorious for displays of simulated sexual acts.

Attempts to apply international pressure have not deterred nearby countries from considering and adopting similar laws to Russia’s.

Homosexual Activist in Hot Water for Revealing Conspiracy to Promote Homosexuality
A British journalist and activist has come under fire from a homosexualist activist for revealing the names of key figures involved in a deliberate long-term plan that resulted in the success of Britain's "gay rights" movement. Nicholas De Jongh, a theatre critic, playwright and homosexualist activist, accused journalist Matthew Parris of "blowing" the confidentiality enjoyed for four decades by a small cadre activists who brought the movement to its maturity in late 1980s Britain.

In a June 27th article in the Times of London, Parris described the "strangely clandestine atmosphere" surrounding meetings of a group of activists who organized in 1988 to oppose Section 28 of the Local Government Bill. That bill for a short time outlawed the "promotion of homosexuality" as "a kind of pretended family relationship." In addition to De Jongh, Parris named the actor Ian McKellen and financial baron and politician Peter Mandelson as key figures in this group.

Later, the group that was to become Stonewall, one of Britain's most influential political lobbies, "put gay equality and homosexual law reform on to the mainstream national agenda" Parris wrote.

"Two decades on we British have overtaken the Americans. After successive reductions in the age of homosexual consent until an equal age was reached, after the Civil Partnerships Act, and after a long and remarkably steady shift in not only the rules but social and media attitudes too, nobody would dispute the success of this slow-burning, 40-year-old crusade."

Parris wrote that contrary to the usual homosexualist doctrine, the movement did not start with the infamous "Stonewall riots" in New York in 1969, staged after police raided a popular homosexual nightclub in Greenwich Village. Instead it was started and nurtured by "valiant, patient, 'respectable' pioneering organisations" and individuals who had "been plugging away for decades."

In a letter to the editor on June 30th, De Jongh, who organized the meetings in the late 1980s, complained in the Times that Parris's characterization of the group as a conspiracy was "inaccurate and lurid." Despite, this, however, De Jongh, wrote "Our meetings were off-the-record, since some of those present were closeted. Confidentiality was maintained for years until Parris, without consulting anyone, blew it."

The success of the movement can be judged by Peter Mandelson's appointment by the Labour government as First Secretary of State, Secretary of State for Business, Innovation and Skills and Lord President of the Council. Mandelson (one of those "conspirators" named by Parris) – along with former Prime Minister Tony Blair and Gordon Brown – is regarded as one of the key figures in the "New Labour" government that has brought in unprecedented legal changes favoring homosexuals. High Occurrence in Africa of HIV among Homosexual Men Study Finds
A new literature review, published by The Lancet, emphasizes the great proportion of HIV/AIDS cases among men who have sex with men (MSM) in sub-Saharan Africa, a fact often ignored in the fight against AIDS in Africa. The study concludes, however, that the solution to the problem lies in greater openness to homosexual practices from the African nations and better access to interventions, a solution that experts from the National Association for Research and Therapy of Homosexuality (NARTH) have called "simplistic."

The review, principally authored by Dr. Adrian D. Smith of the University of Oxford, calls for greater acceptance of MSM in sub-Saharan Africa, where the cultures are still mostly unwilling to accept homosexuality and the homosexualist agenda.

"Continued denial of MSM from effective HIV/AIDS prevention and care," they say, "is harmful to national HIV/AIDS responses."  According to the review, male-to-male sex is illegal in 31 sub-Saharan countries, with the death penalty a possible punishment in four of them.

There is a need, say the researchers, for increased recognition of the HIV problem among MSM, which has been overlooked in sub-Saharan Africa. "Globally, [MSM] continue to bear a high burden of HIV infection," they write.

The initial research conducted in the early 1980s focused on heterosexual transmission, observe the researchers, suggesting that these findings have skewed the approach ever since.  The result was that "the possibility that MSM might feature within this model [of HIV infection in Africa] soon disappeared from discussion."

Previous reports have also indicated that the idea that AIDS is primarily being transmitted through heterosexual relations in Africa may not have a firm basis in fact.

In 2003 a study authored by Dr. Stuart Brody found that anal sex, both homosexual and heterosexual, is the second greatest cause of HIV transmission in Africa.  Poor medical practices, such as the use of dirty needles, were found to be the greatest cause, with vaginal transmission being a distant third cause.

Steve Mosher of the Population Research Institute's (PRI) has also discussed the African heterosexual transmission myth, describing how information about poor medical settings has been ignored, and how various interest groups, "for diverse ideological, political, and financial reasons, promoted the notion of heterosexual transmission in their publications, proposals, and press releases."  According to one of the studies he discussed, the result was the "ignoring and misinterpreting of epidemiologic evidence."

According to the authors of the most recent study, however, the finding that HIV transmission rates are ind

eed heavily related to MSM indicates that African countries should be more open to homosexual practices. "The neglect of research, surveillance and HIV prevention, and treatment and care programmes for MSM cannot be separated from the influence of general, largely hostile attitudes toward homosexuality in Africa," they write.

"Political, cultural, and religious hostility towards MSM presents the main barrier to implementing effective HIV research, policy, and health programmes for African MSM."

But Drs. A. Dean Byrd and David Wood of the NARTH Scientific Advisory Committee say they disagree with the review's conclusion.

"The overrepresentation of men who have sex with men among the population of HIV/AIDS individuals is cause for concern," they told LSN by e-mail.  "However, the remedy suggested by the authors of the article, i.e., more openness to homosexual practices may not reduce the incidence of the disease.

"The Malebranche's research which was included in the June 2003 issue of the American Journal of Public Health," they continued, "seems to contradict the notion that becoming more open or disclosing one's homosexuality was associated with improved mental health, responsible behavior and lower rates of HIV infection.

"To the contrary, African American men in this study who disclosed their homosexuality had higher rates of HIV prevalence than those who do not choose to do so (24 percent versus 14 percent.)  They also engaged in more unprotected anal sex (41 percent versus 32 percent) than those who did not disclose."

Drs. Byrd and Wood said that the issue is far more complicated than the review's authors make it seem.  "The simplistic solution suggested by the authors to this rather complicated issue seems to lack merit.  Rather HIV/AIDs should be treated like any other sexually-transmitted disease and efforts directed at surveillance, risk factor identification, the implementation of interventions and evaluation."

The pair emphasized the inherent risks associated with homosexual behaviour, a fact that the study brushes over.  "The current scientific evidence," they wrote, "does suggest that homosexual practices do place its participants at risk for some health-related problems," a finding that they say appears to hold true even in extremely homosexual-friendly countries like the Netherlands.
