The police seized all of the video tapes of the Center for Medical Progress’s undercover investigation of Planned Parenthood. David’s supposed crime? Using an allegedly fake California driver’s license as an investigative reporter to expose Planned Parenthood’s illegal sale of aborted baby body parts for profit. We’ve all heard of police raids on drug dealers, mobsters, and the like, but a journalist using an undercover identity to uncover a real crime??? This is gangster-style intimidation, plain and simple. And it doesn’t stop with David. I, too, am under investigation. And any day now, I could find my door kicked in and my home ransacked just like he did! An actor’s ID is not the issue here. California turns a blind eye to millions of truly fake IDs used by illegal immigrants every day. So why did Kamala Harris use this as an excuse to raid the home of David Daleiden? Just...

Judicial Agenda: Court Forces Utah, and Texas, to Fund Planned Parenthood Even After It Sells Aborted Baby Parts

Update [ed. This judicial unraveling of state laws and states’ rights is happening at an increasing rate. Several states which defunded Planned Parenthood are being FORCED to fund this ‘non-profit’ life-destroying organization.]  A federal court temporarily thwarted Utah’s efforts to defund Planned Parenthood on Wednesday amid outrage about the abortion giant selling aborted babies’ body parts. The disappointing decision by the 10th U.S. Circuit Court reverses a federal judge’s ruling last week that gave Utah Gov. Gary Herbert the okay to take away taxpayer funding from the abortion group, The Hill reports. The court’s temporary injunction will remain in place until it hears the challenge by Planned Parenthood’s Utah affiliate, according to the report. Despite the temporary setback, Herbert spokesman Jon Cox said in a statement on Wednesday that they hope to achieve a victory in the end. “The governor is confident that once the 10th Circuit Court of Appeals has the opportunity to look closely at the legal issues in this case, like Judge Waddoups, they will reach the same decision and agree that it is contrary to the public’s best interest to remove the governor’s discretion to make contract decisions on behalf of the state,” he said. The Utah abortion affiliate receives about $275,000 in taxpayer funding each year. Herbert previously said he plans to redirect the funding to community health providers “to provide the same kind of health care to women that Planned Parenthood was doing” – without funding abortions. Nine Eye-Opening Quotes From Planned Parenthood CEO Cecile Richards

Planned Parenthood CEO Cecile Richards made a lot of public appearances in 2015 after her abortion business was caught selling aborted babies body parts. Head of the largest abortion business in the U.S., Richards was forced to go on the defense as Americans called for the abortion giant to be investigated and defunded of more than half-a-billion in taxpayer dollars each year. She testified before a U.S. Congressional committee and made numerous media appearances in an attempt to paint the abortion giant in a positive light. Here are just nine of Richards’ most eye-opening statements from 2015: “We do not have mammogram machines at our health centers and we’ve never stated that we did.” Richards’ quote is significant because she basically admitted to a U.S. Congressional committee in September that she lied about Planned Parenthood providing mammograms. On February 21, 2011, Richards told talk show host Joy Behar that Planned Parenthood provides mammograms: “If this bill ever becomes law, millions of women in this country are going to lose their health care access, not to abortion services, to basic family planning – you know, mammograms, cancer screenings, cervical cancer.” “Put simply: a 20-week abortion ban lacks compassion & it lacks respect.” Richards tweeted this in May after the U.S. House of Representatives passed the Pain Capable Unborn Child Protection Act. The federal bill would end abortions on babies in the womb who feel pain – but apparently ending painful, later abortions on unborn babies is not “compassionate,” according to Richards. Richards also claimed the bill would “hurt women.” “I had an abortion. It was the right decision for me...

Historic City of Selma Finally Abortion Free; Illegal Abortion Site Shuts Down

The unlicensed Central Alabama Women’s Clinic, in Selma, Alabama, has changed its name and no longer does abortions after pro-life groups caught it illegally operating as an abortion shop and exerted public pressure calling for its closure. In 2014, Fr. Terry Gensemer of CEC For Life uncovered an illegal abortion clinic in Selma, Alabama, and began efforts to stop the appalling operation. Now, the coalition of pro-life organizations that developed around those efforts has confirmed that Dr. Samuel Lett is no longer performing abortions in the city of Selma. The Central Alabama Women’s Clinic, formerly used as Lett’s back-alley abortion clinic, is now operating as a weight-loss facility. Life Legal provided overwhelming evidence of the shop’s illegal practices to the Alabama Department of Public Health and the Alabama Board of Medical Examiners. Pro-life leaders from CEC For Life, Operation Rescue, Life Legal Defense Foundation, The National Black Prolife Coalition and Created Equal have been building public awareness around this illegal clinic for nearly two years. Aside from several public campaigns and a historic march across the Edmund Pettus Bridge with Alveda King, Charmaine Yoest and Star Parker, these same organizations have continued to call for state authorities to take action and prevent Lett from becoming the next Gosnell. Fr. Terry Gensemer, Director of CEC For Life, comments, “We are thankful that Dr. Lett has ceased abortions in Selma, as we know that this same kind of under-the-radar, illegal activity led to the horrors we saw in Kermit Gosnell’s Philadelphia clinic.” Gensemer also reports that, though Lett has ceased abortions, the coalition is still in communication with state officials regarding...

2015: A Game-Changing Year that has Advanced the Cause of Life

Operation Rescue is wrapping up an eventful and productive year, culminating with the release of our annual survey of abortion centers that revealed the good news that the national trend of closing abortion centers strongly continues. “As the old saying goes, ‘with the blessing comes the blasting.’ That was so very true for Operation Rescue in 2015,” said Operation Rescue President Troy Newman. “We made remarkable headway this year, but also endured some of the worst attacks we have seen in years, probably because we were on the cutting edge and in the headlines pushing back against the agenda of the Abortion Cartel.” The Center for Medical Progress changed the game over the summer by releasing several undercover video summaries that depicted Planned Parenthood personnel at the highest levels negotiating for the sale of aborted baby body parts with undercover CMP actors posing as representatives of a biologics company. Troy Newman, President of Operation Rescue, served on the Board of the CMP during the nearly three-year investigation. Because of his advisory role in the project, once the first videos were released, Newman, along with CMP head David Daleiden, was sued in Federal Court by the National Abortion Federation. The NAF is attempting to keep videos related to their role in the baby body parts scandal from being made public. That lawsuit is ongoing and continues to threaten free speech and free press rights in America. Despite the attacks (both legal and in the pro-abortion media) that Newman and Operation Rescue have endured from a panicked Abortion Cartel as backlash to this project, and Planned Parenthood’s aggressive public relations campaign...

5 Terrible Things Americans Learned About Planned Parenthood in 2015

Americans learned a lot of terrible things about Planned Parenthood this year, but these five just might take the cake. When it comes to the abortion giant – who receives $1.5 million per day of our own hard-earned money – we can’t afford to turn a blind eye. 1) Planned Parenthood wants abortions to be “plentiful.” No doubt you’ve heard the “safe, legal, and rare” slogan that pro-choice leaders often throw around. Well, Planned Parenthood dispelled that myth through a tweet it sent out just this month: Planned Parenthood – the organization that performs a third of abortions in the U.S. – would actually love abortion to be “plentiful.” This is way out of whack with most Americans’ feelings on the matter. Even many pro-choice Americans believe abortion should be rare, not “plentiful.” Not so Planned Parenthood. After all, the average 10-week abortion brings in about $450-$600, and the median charge for a 20-week abortion is $1,500, so bring on the cash. 2) Planned Parenthood knows abortion takes the life of a baby. Annabelle, at 8 weeks, 5 days old. Her mother shared her beautiful story and photos here, illustrating the absolute humanity of all preborn children. In a shocking admission, Dr. Savita Ginde – abortionist and Vice President and Medical Director of Planned Parenthood of the Rocky Mountains – said on tape, “It’s a baby.” Who was she speaking of? A picked apart little human baby who had just been aborted (probably by her) at her clinic. In the same discussion, Ginde explained: “Here’s the heart. My fingers will smoosh it if I try to pick it up....

Abortion Shop Owner Derzis: “I Thank God Every Day I Had an Abortion”

Diane Derzis is the owner of the last remaining abortion clinic in Mississippi and she is no stranger to some strange quotes. Through botched abortions, dozens of pro-life laws providing women the protection for their medical health her facility ignores, and lawsuits stopping the state from having her abortion practitioners get admitting privileges at local hospitals, Derzis has kept the Jackson Women’s Health Organization going. Derzis started working as an abortion center counselor shortly after the first place opened in Alabama in the 1970s. And she talks openly about the abortion she had when she was 20, newly married and in college. She said didn’t want children, and knew immediately she wanted to have an abortion of her 12-week-old unborn baby. Derzis said her mother told her she’d regret it, but she hasn’t. “I thank God every day I had that abortion,” said Derzis, who later divorced and doesn’t have children. “It was not a great experience, but you know what? I had a safe abortion. And that’s what counts.” Although the abortion industry claims abortion practitioners care about women and abortion should be between a woman and her [abortion] doctor (whom she’s never met before the abortion), Derzis says the abortionist was “gruff and disrespectful.” Previously, Derzis said God told her to keep killing babies in abortion. “If they think they’re going to make me feel badly about what I do … not gonna happen,” said Derzis, a 59-year-old Virginia native who has lived in Alabama for decades. Earlier this month, outside Derzis’ shop in Mississippi’s capital city, police officers tried to keep a couple dozen protesters and...

2015 Abortion Business Survey Reveals 81% of Abortion Sites Have Closed Since 1991

The total number abortion sites in America continues to decline, following nationwide trend extending back to 1991. In 2015, abortion centers closed at a rate of more than one per week with 53 abortion sites shutting down or halting all abortion services. Operation Rescue surveyed by telephone all abortion facilities in the U.S. from December 1-15, 2015 and found the following: * 42 Surgical abortion clinics halted all abortion services. * 11 Medical abortion clinics halted all abortion services. In addition, a number of abortion facilities reduced services: * 16 abortion clinics halted surgeries and now offer only medication abortions. * 12 abortion clinics stopped dispensing abortion drugs and now only offer surgical abortions, noting that the abortion pill was “ineffective” or “too dangerous.” In all, 81 abortion clinics closed or reduced services in 2015. Currently, there are 517 surgical abortion clinics and 213 medication abortion clinics remaining active in the U.S., the lowest numbers in decades. In 1991, which is considered the high water mark for the number of abortion clinics, there were 2,176 surgical facilities offering abortions. Since then, 81% have closed. In 2015, 21 new facilities began selling abortions. This includes 7 new surgical abortion clinics and 14 medication clinics that opened or converted from referral offices. Several other abortion facilities reopened after struggling with location issues or having been shut down by the state as unsafe. This represents a net loss for the Abortion Cartel of 9 abortion clinics nationwide and 219 since 2013. This represents bad news for the Abortion Cartel: Americans are increasingly rejecting abortion in favor of life. The reduction in abortion...

University of New Mexico Halts Abortion Rotation at Late-Term Abortionist Curtis Boyd’s Facility, But Continues to Accept Aborted Baby Parts

[Note correction at end of article] The ABQ Journal newspaper is reporting that the University of New Mexico, which is a publicly-funded institution, has partially cut ties with Southwestern Women’s Options, a late-term abortion facility owned by Texas abortionist Curtis Boyd, that conducts abortions through all nine months of pregnancy. UNM has severed an agreement with SWO to provide abortion training for UNM medical students. However, it says it will continue to accept harvested aborted baby parts from this facility. Before UNM’s move to cut formal ties with SWO, it appeared that the university was providing staffing to the abortion facility in exchange for the fetal remains that it says it uses for “research.” The problem with this body parts arrangement is that it is in violation of New Mexico law. Protest ABQ obtained Curtis Boyd’s consent forms from 2012 and 2015 that states: “pregnancy tissue may be used in medical research.” This clearly violates NM Statute Chapter 24 Section 6b, which states: The Jonathan Spradling Revised Uniform Anatomical Gift Act. This statute forbids the use of aborted babies in medical research and goes further to exclude aborted babies as decedents (section D.) who are incapable of making an anatomical gift who can donate their organs and tissues for “transplantation, therapy, or education.” For this reason, Protest ABQ filed a formal complaint in July 2015, with the New Mexico Attorney General seeking an investigation into the illegal use of aborted baby remains for research since the baby cannot consent to the donation. That complaint is still pending. UNM Abortion Ties For the past five years members of Protest ABQ...

Fifth Carhart Abortion Patient Rushed To Emergency Room in Maryland

ABORTION INDUSTRY HARMS WOMEN For at least the fifth time since LeRoy Carhart located his late-term abortion business to Maryland, one of his abortion patients has been rushed to a hospital emergency room by ambulance. On December 15, 2015, the Maryland Coalition for Life reports that Carhart, who is nationally known for being one of the few abortion providers to conduct third trimester elective abortions, accompanied a patient in the ambulance as she was rushed away to receive emergency help for what appeared to be an abortion-related emergency. The Coalition provided video of the incident to Operation Rescue. “Carhart continues to endanger women while the authorities in Maryland look the other way. We are concerned for the woman who was transported to the hospital and can only wonder how many women must suffer injury or death until Carhart’s medical license is revoked,” said Newman… Visit link below for remainder of article… [18 Dec 2015, Germantown, MD, http://www.operationrescue.org/archives/fifth-carhart-abortion-patient-rushed-to-emergency-room-in-maryland/...

San Antonio Mother Uncovers Covert Planned Parenthood Strategy to Open New Abortion Biz

In a year when multiple states have opened official investigations into its practices, Planned Parenthood has been discreetly expanding the reach of its abortion services in Texas. The nation’s leading provider of abortions has set its latest covert action for Thursday, December 17—one week before Christmas Eve. The issue stems from Planned Parenthood’s attempts to thwart a pro-life Texas law enacted in 2013, policies crafted on a bipartisan basis which require abortion centers raise safety standards to the level of ambulatory surgical centers (ASCs). Such ASCs can only operate in commercially zoned buildings due to heavy water and road use, among other issues. Months ago, the San Antonio City Council granted Planned Parenthood an exception to city zoning policies—allowing the group to remodel an existing facility and open its abortion center 50 feet from families’ homes in the Dreamhill Estates neighborhood. On Thursday, the San Antonio City Council convenes in an all-day meeting to consider this issue along with other city business. “Politicians often look for busy times to handle issues they’d rather go unnoticed,” says Nicole Hudgens, a policy analyst for Texas Values Action who attended a city hearing last week with over 100 concerned citizens. “San Antonio city leaders are trying to seal a special deal with Planned Parenthood days before Christmas, just as Texas families are focused on celebrating the greatest pro-life miracle of all time,” states Hudgens. Lorie Rojas, a resident of Dreamhill Estates in San Antonio, has seen how this new abortion center has already affected her family’s quiet neighborhood. Raising four children with her husband Roland, she took time away from holiday preparations...

Life-Affirming Pregnancy Centers Preferred over Abortion Providers in 2014 National Poll

By an overwhelming margin, American women and men report more favorable opinions of life-affirming pregnancy centers offering abortion alternatives, as compared to organizations providing abortions such as Planned Parenthood, according to a 2014 national poll commissioned by the Charlotte Lozier Institute (CLI). One thousand American women aged 18-44 years and 300 men of the same age range were surveyed about questions related to health behaviors, specifically geared towards unexpected pregnancy decisions and care. Overall opinions and impressions about experiences were measured to contrast views towards organizations which provide abortion alternatives at the community-based level and those which offer and refer for abortion. (In addition, the survey population was polled on four direct measures of attitudes on the life issue including general pro-life and pro-choice sentiment as well as opinions on time limits and exceptions with respect to abortion laws. These results comported with a nationally representative sample within the margin of error.) To gauge opinions regarding life-affirming pregnancy centers (also known as pregnancy resource, pregnancy care and/or pregnancy help centers) the survey first provided a description of the services these types of groups offer: “These centers provide free medical services and other support to women with an unexpected pregnancy and encourage them to give birth to their babies. They do not offer or refer women for abortions.” Then to follow up, “Do you have an overall opinion of organizations of this kind?” A range of favorable and unfavorable options for response were provided. Tweet This: 80 percent of Americans have positive view of #prolife pregnancy help. @SBAList An impressive 80 percent of respondents reported a “favorable view” of pregnancy...

Networks Censor How Planned Parenthood “Steam-Cooks” Aborted Babies, Dumps Them in Landfills / Judge Stops Ohio from Preventing PP’s Steamed Babies Landfill Dumping

A story of aborted baby bodies in landfills should be reporter-bait. But it’s not, at least to ABC, NBC and CBS. After a statewide investigation, Ohio Attorney General Mike DeWine announced Friday that his office found no evidence that Ohio Planned Parenthood affiliates participated in the selling of aborted baby parts. Instead, his office argued it discovered something else: aborted babies thrown into landfills by Planned Parenthood. To date, the three broadcast networks, ABC, NBC and CBS, have ignored the story during their morning and evening news shows. According to a press release, DeWine’s office discovered: “All three Ohio Planned Parenthood affiliates have sent fetal remains to companies which disposed of the fetuses in landfills.” “Additionally, the Planned Parenthood facility in Bedford Heights stated it uses only one company for disposal. However, that company stated to investigators it does not accept fetal remains for disposal as a corporate policy.” In a letter to Richard Hodges, director of the Ohio Department of Health, DeWine revealed, “We learned that aborted fetuses are ultimately disposed of in landfill sites – apparently intermingled with other common residential and commercial trash.” [emphasis added.] “As you know,” he added, “Ohio Administrative Code 3701-47-05 mandates that a ‘fetus shall be disposed of in a humane manner.’” DeWine slammed Planned Parenthood further in his office’s press release. “Disposing of aborted fetuses from an abortion by sending them to a landfill is callous and completely inhumane,” urged DeWine. “It is important the public be aware that these practices are taking place at these Ohio facilities.” The networks did not take their cue. Not even when Planned Parenthood filed...

Another Showdown in Missouri: Planned Parenthood Refuses to Comply with Legislative Subpoena

In a defiant and obstructive act meant to deny critical information to Missouri legislators, Planned Parenthood of the St. Louis Region and Southwest Missouri is refusing to honor a subpoena issued by a legislative committee investigating Planned Parenthood. The Missouri Senate Interim Committee on the Sanctity of Life, headed by Sen. Kurt Schaefer, issued a subpoena for records related to about fifty incidents of medical emergencies that occurred at Planned Parenthood’s St. Louis abortion facility. The Committee allowed for Planned Parenthood to redact any patient identifying information. Nevertheless, Planned Parenthood held a telephonic press conference on Friday complaining about the investigation and announcing that they would refuse to comply with the legislative subpoena, prompting a legal showdown with the Legislature. “I guess there’s something they don’t want us to find out,” Schaefer told reporters in response to Planned Parenthood’s refusal to cooperate with the investigation, which was prompted by the release of undercover videos by the Center for Medical Progress over the summer… Sen. Schaefer has indicated that consequences of refusing to comply with a legislative subpoena include jail time and fines, but specific action will be considered by the full Senate… Earlier, Schaefer’s committee uncovered an illegal relationship between Planned Parenthood and Missouri University. MU employees using state funds recruited and assisted a Planned Parenthood abortionist, Colleen McNicholas, to obtain what were later found to be bogus hospital privileges from University Hospital that were then deceptively used by Planned Parenthood to obtain a state abortion facility license and resume abortions at their Columbia facility. As a result, MU withdrew McNicholas’ “refer and follow” privileges, which should have forced...

Michigan Attorney General Files Civil Suit against Trunk Abortionist Michael Roth

The Michigan Attorney General’s office has filed a civil action against abortionist Michael Roth after powerful sedation drugs and jars of aborted baby remains were found in his vehicle after an auto accident. It appeared that Roth had been conducting abortions out of the trunk of his car. Roth has been caught before doing dangerous home abortions. In 2004 he was disciplined and fined $15,000 then ordered not to perform abortions outside “an approved clinic/hospital/office setting.” Now Roth faces possible license revocation. He has 30 days to respond to the court action filed on Friday. “While we had hoped for criminal charges, putting this abortionist out of business is the next best thing,” said Operation Rescue President Troy Newman. “But Roth will have to be continually monitored by the state even if his license is revoked since laws and court orders seem to have little effect on him.” Roth was involved in a car crash in early October that left a special needs child critically injured. His car was impounded and when authorities searched his vehicle, they discovered 14 plastic tubs containing what was later confirmed to be bodies of aborted babies. Also found in his vehicle were medical implements and “large amounts” of Fentanyl, a drug favored by abortionists used to sedate women prior to their abortions. The drug belonged to another doctor identified only as A.O. and had expired in 2014. Roth has also been disciplined as recently as December, 2012 for botched abortions, negligence and incompetence. He was reprimanded and fined $2,000 for failing to complete a woman’s D&E late-term abortion. The Word Abortion Industry Workers Cannot Say

A pro-choice researcher wrote about how the term “baby” is dreaded in abortion sites. Feminist author Wendy Simonds interviewed abortion industry workers for her book Abortion at Work: Ideology and Practice in a Feminist Clinic. Although the book was written from a pro-choice perspective, with a whole chapter dedicated to how to foil “antis” (i.e. “anti-choice” protesters), some interviews with abortion workers seemed to give far more ammunition to the pro-life side than the pro-choice side. After observing the workings of the facility and witnessing both abortions and counseling sessions, Simonds writes: Center staff members commonly said “the pregnancy,” “the tissue,” “the products of conception.” “Fetal tissue” was the most explicit term I heard health workers use with clients. They never, ever, called it a baby. Although Simonds does not spend much time talking about the counseling at the facility (except to say that sessions were kept short because spending too much time with each woman slowed down patient flow, ultimately reducing the facility’s income) pro-lifers can speculate about why the term “baby” is avoided. Many former abortion industry workers have talked about how they were trained never to say the word “baby” because it would make women have second thoughts about going through with their abortions. For example, former abortion worker Kathy Sparks said the following in the Christian Herald: Sometimes we lied. A girl might ask what her baby was like at a certain point in the pregnancy: Was it a baby yet? Even as early as 12 weeks a baby is totally formed, he has fingerprints, turns his head, fans his toes, feels pain. But we...

Center for Medical Progress & Legal Counsel File Declaration and Opposition Brief to NAF Injunction Against Undercover Videos

Abortion Business Trying to Stop More Planned Parenthood Videos, Calls Pro-Lifers “Racketeers” It’s been since late October that the last shocking expose’ video was released exposing how Planned Parenthood and the remaining abortion industry are selling the body parts of aborted babies. Since then, the Senate has approved legislation that would defund Planned Parenthood… NAF, a trade group for abortion business is attempting to stop the Center for Medical Progress from releasing any more videos and fighting in court to squelch its free speech. In response to the attempt by the National Abortion Federation to censor additional videos, the Life Legal Defense Foundation, a pro-life legal group, filed an opposition brief to NAF’s motion for preliminary injunction against David Daleiden and the Center for Medical Progress. NAF is suing for an injunction to prevent Daleiden from releasing the recordings and information he obtained at the NAF meetings on the false grounds that he is a “racketeer” who “committed fraud,” “snuck into” their completely secure, private meetings, “stole” NAF information, and repelled them with his constant questions about buying fetal tissue from aborted babies. Life Legal’s opposition brief argues that, on the contrary, NAF welcomed Daleiden and the other investigators as dealers in body parts of aborted babies, that he conducted his investigation legally, and that the public has a right to know what Daleiden uncovered at the NAF meetings. Daleiden’s declaration, filed with the opposition brief, gives a very different version of events than NAF has provided — and includes the evidence to back it up. He says that two of his investigators, posing as employees of BioMax, met...

WATCH: Powerful Pro-Life Messages From 8 Members of Congress Investigating Planned Parenthood

Now that the House and Senate have passed a bill to defund Planned Parenthood, all eyes are on President Obama. Will he bolster his pro-abortion record by vetoing this legislation supported by a majority of Americans? Even if a presidential veto is forthcoming, it will not be the end. Congress has been ramping up its investigation into the ethics and legality of major abortion industry corporations—Planned Parenthood foremost among them—through the Select Investigative Panel on Infant Lives. Planned Parenthood protest Nearly 100,000 Americans protested at Planned Parenthood clinics nationwide this summer (Photo via ProtestPP.com) “We are charged with gathering information and conducting fact-finding to get answers,” stated Rep. Marsha Blackburn (R-Tennessee), who recently named pro-life stalwart March Bell as Staff Director of this select committee. Blackburn leads the investigative panel of pro-life members—four women and four men—joined by six pro-choice members of Congress. “We will follow the law, find the facts and focus on where those facts take us in defense of life,” she concludes. Formed after the release of the Center for Medical Progress undercover videos, now the panel’s eight pro-life members speak up for the sanctity of every life in brief video messages. Rep. Marsha Blackburn Upholds Medical Ethics in a Culture of Convenience Mother of two and grandmother of two, Rep. Marsha Blackburn has strong support in her home state of Tennessee—and in Washington has been known for her effective role on several committees, notably related to ensuring quality health care for those in need. “Science shows us these are not blobs of tissue; they are babies,” Blackburn said of pre-born lives in a recent House...

Michigan Abortions Increase as Abortions Drop Nationally to Historic Lows

A total of 27,629 abortions were reported in Michigan in 2014, a 5.8 percent increase from 2013, according to the annual report from the Michigan Department of Community Health. Most of the country is seeing abortion drop to historic lows since Roe v. Wade, and although the Michigan numbers went up in 2014, they are significantly lower than what they once were. The 2014 total represents a 43.7 percent decrease in the number of unborn babies who were aborted since 1987, according to Right to Life of Michigan. “No matter what the procedure or where the mothers come from to have an abortion, we are deeply saddened by the loss of precious lives. While the overall trend of decreasing abortions is encouraging, this year’s increase and the annual overall numbers serve as a reminder that our pro-life efforts must continue – lives depend on us,” the Michigan pro-life group said in a statement. The online news website Michigan Live reports that pro-life and abortion advocates both say the numbers could be up because of a 2012 Michigan law that tightened the penalties for abortion sites that fail to report their abortion numbers. Genevieve Marnon of Right to Life of Michigan told the news site that some abortion facilities were not reporting their abortion numbers to the state, but the new law changed that. She said they anticipated an increase this year because of previous under-reporting. “The state never reported abortions performed in Muskegon,” even though there was an abortion facility there, Marnon said. The Muskegon abortion facility, Women’s Medical Clinic, closed after the new law went into effect, according...

National Abortion Federation Invited Undercover Fetal Harvesting Investigator Daleiden to Their ‘Top-Secret’ Meetings, and Invited Him Back

Life Legal Brief Completely Refutes National Abortion Federation: NAF Invited David Daleiden To Its ‘Secret’ Meetings The National Abortion Federation has played the victim card too long. In the months since suing David Daleiden and the Center for Medical Progress, the National Abortion Federation (NAF) has claimed that David and other investigators are “racketeers” who went on a “three-year crime spree” and committed “fraud,” “crashed” the NAF meetings, and “stole” NAF information. NAF is suing for an injunction to prevent David from releasing the recordings and information he obtained at the NAF meeting on the grounds that he “snuck into” their completely secure, private meetings and repelled them with his constant questions about buying fetal tissue. Nothing could be further from the truth. On Thursday, Life Legal filed an opposition brief to NAF’s motion for preliminary injunction. The brief argues that the public has a right to know what David uncovered at the NAF meetings, that he conducted his investigation legally, and that NAF welcomed David and the other investigators as dealers in fetal tissue. David’s declaration, filed with the opposition brief, gives a very different version of events than NAF has provided — and includes the evidence to back it up: “In September 2013, I directed two investigators to attend a conference of the Association of Reproductive Health Professionals (ARHP) as representatives of BioMax Procurement Services. At that time, BioMax was not registered with the California Secretary of State and did not have a website, flyers, or signage. BioMax was the name for a business that had not yet come into formal existence.” At the ARHP meeting, the...
