Report Affirms Abortion Is Greatest Genocide in History

Pro-life protesters hold signs imploring onlookers to “Defend Life.” There’s an old saying that if you torture the numbers long enough, they will confess to anything. Recently, the Guttmacher Institute, which has strong ties to Planned Parenthood, published yet another dubious, politically driven report that fudges the numbers on worldwide abortion incidence. Predictably, it is funded by abortion-friendly groups like the Packard Foundation, United Nations Population Fund, World Health Organization, and others. The main problem with the new Guttmacher report is that it does not include actual verifiable data for all countries. If the “government agencies” cited refer to ministries of health and other government offices that collect service reports and data from hospitals and abortion centers, then this data is most likely reliable. However, data compiled from so-called “national representative studies,” whether published or unpublished, are highly suspicious, and this raises important questions. How did these studies obtain their abortion data from the 60 countries where abortion is illegal? Who is reporting those abortions? How is data collected in countries where abortion is under-reported? What about countries that do not have strict reporting requirements and have trouble tracking things such as basic vital statistics, let alone abortion data? It is possible to track 12.4 million actually reported abortions annually worldwide, including in the top three countries of China, the United States, and Russia. But Guttmacher’s assertion that 56.3 million abortions occur worldwide annually is highly improbable and unprovable, not to mention that their total is four and a half times more than the actual documented data available. (Actual abortion data are available here for over 100 nations and...

Groups Protest Stericycle, the Abortion Enabling Company That Processes Planned Parenthood’s Aborted Babies

A pro-life group will protest the annual shareholders meeting of the company Stericycle, which process the bodies of the babies aborted at Planned Parenthood and other abortion businesses. The pro-life group Created Equal says the medical waste disposal company is “enabling” Planned Parenthood to kill unborn children. “Evidence shows Stericycle has been partnering with Planned Parenthood and the abortion industry through their collection, transportation, and disposal of aborted children and the instruments used to kill them,” it told LifeNews. The waste company has unsuccessfully tried to stop the pro-life group from exposing its link to Planned Parenthood. “Created Equal launched #ProjectWeakLink — http://killersamongus.org/ — on March 29 by distributing informational postcards in the Lake Forest, IL area, which is home to Planned Parenthood business partner Stericycle. On March 31, Created Equal was notified by Stericycle’s attorneys that the company was seeking a temporary restraining order to stop the campaign,” the group said. “On May 25, Created Equal will be conducting a demonstration at the company’s annual shareholders meeting.” The meeting will [did] take place at the Double Tree Hotel at 5460 N River Rd in Rosemont, Illinois on May 25. Mark Harrington of Created Equal told LifeNews: “To date, Stericycle has not provided sufficient evidence regarding whether they have discontinued transporting and disposing of aborted children and the instruments used to kill them for Planned Parenthood and other abortion facilities. Therefore, we will be appealing to Stericycle’s shareholders to get clarification on the company’s Waste Acceptance Protocol and encourage them to consider whether closely affiliating with the Planned Parenthood and the abortion cartel is a wise financial decision.” According...

Possible Zika Virus Infection Among Pregnant Women – United States & Territories, May 2016

[While still very early in surveillance, it is hoped that actual pregnancy risk may be lower than previously publicized.] As of May 12, 2016, the surveillance systems were monitoring 157 and 122 pregnant women with laboratory evidence of possible Zika virus infection from participating U.S. states and territories, respectively. Among the 157 pregnant women from U.S. states and the District of Columbia monitored through USZPR, 73 (49%) reported clinical symptoms consistent with Zika virus disease. Among these symptomatic pregnant women, 64 (88%) reported rash, 36 (49%) arthralgia, 37 (51%) fever, and 17 (23%) conjunctivitis. Among all (157) pregnancies included from U.S. states, Zika virus nucleic acid detection by rRT-PCR was reported in 39 (25%). Among 122 pregnant residents of the U.S. territories being monitored in USZPR or ZAPSS, 80 (66%) reported clinical symptoms consistent with Zika virus disease. Among these symptomatic women, 60 (75%) reported rash, 29 (36%) arthralgia, 27 (34%) fever, and 15 (19%) conjunctivitis. Among all women included from U.S. territories (122), Zika virus nucleic acid detection by rRT-PCR in serum was identified in 67 (55%). This report launches the weekly reporting of pregnant women with laboratory evidence of possible Zika virus infection in U.S. states and territories. Monitoring all pregnant women with possible Zika virus infection during pregnancy, whether asymptomatic or symptomatic, will enhance understanding of possible adverse outcomes and allow better estimates of the number of pregnancies at risk for adverse outcomes. Zika virus infection during pregnancy is a cause of microcephaly and other brain abnormalities (1) and it is the first known mosquito-borne infection to cause congenital anomalies in humans. However, the full range...

Grandmas for Abortion: Group of Grannies Encourages Women to Abort Their Babies

In an often cited 2012 interview, the former president of the radical pro-abortion group NARAL lamented that the pro-life movement was attracting so many young people, while the pro-abortion movement was growing old and gray. A new pro-abortion group in Maine is recruiting the old, graying crowd that former NARAL president Nancy Keenan was worried about. It’s called Grandmothers for Reproductive Rights (GRR!). The Bangor Daily News recently profiled the leader of the pro-abortion grannies group, Julia Kahrl. She grew up in a privileged, pro-abortion household. Her grandfather, James Gamble, was the co-founder of Procter & Gamble, and her father, Clarence Gamble, was a doctor who worked with Margaret Sanger, the founder of Planned Parenthood, according to the report. (A side note, it was in a letter to Kahrl’s father that Sanger exposed her racist intentions with the infamous line, “We don’t want the word to get out that we want to exterminate the Negro population …”) Clarence later began an international organization called Pathfinder Fund to push abortions and birth control as population control measures in developing countries. Most of Pathfinder’s funding comes from federal taxpayer dollars, the report states. It was through her work with Pathfinder that Kahrl decided to begin the pro-abortion grannies group. She told the newspaper that while visiting Mozambique in 2013, she learned about a group of grandmothers who were working to educate their communities about birth control. “And the light came on,” Kahrl said. Back in Maine, she began Grandmothers for Reproductive Rights, which has about 30 active members, according to the report. The grannies group lobbies against state measures requiring parental...

Abortion Activist Assaults Pro-Life Advocate, Screams “This Is Not Violence”

Violence against pro-life advocates appears to be increasing across the country. The Ohio-based group Created Equal reports one of its leaders was the latest victim of assault last week during a pro-life outreach at an Ohio high school. The pro-life group posted a video (below) of the confrontation Tuesday, showing an angry man yelling at a group of young pro-lifers and then grabbing one pro-lifer’s camera. The man said, “This is not violence” and proceeded to yell at the team. Created Equal said in a news release that the man also “roughed up” one of its outreach team members. Mark Harrington, national director of the group, said they are seeing more abortion advocates resort to violence against their pro-life outreach, which includes photos of aborted babies. “In defending the violence of abortion, abortion advocates use violence to intimidate preborn defenders,” Harrington said in a statement. “We take every lawful measure to ensure the safety of our team members. However, we understand these kinds of attacks are inevitable. We will never be silenced by violence or threats of violence.” Here is more from the group in an email to LifeNews.com: The video shows the abortion advocate assaulting Ian Spencer, Outreach Coordinator, for Created Equal, as he prepared his team to discuss abortion with students at Gahanna Lincoln High School in Columbus, OH. While attacking Ian, he refuses to admit what he is doing is violent. When Ian requests he stop violating our right to free speech, he responds: “I am not physically assaulting anyone.” Nevertheless, he does not stop arguing that he has a right to threaten our team—all the...

Abortion Killed One Woman in the UK Last Year and Injured 294 Others, But the Media is Silent

The Westminster Department of Health released its report on abortion statistics in England and Wales for 2015 today. Statistics revealed that 833 women traveled from Northern Ireland to have an abortion in England and Wales. This is a slight decrease from last year’s 837 figure. 3,451 women traveled from the Republic of Ireland for an abortion in England and Wales in 2015. This is a significant decrease from the 3,735 women who traveled last year. Of the 185,824 abortions carried out on women resident in England and Wales, there were complications reported in 294 cases. Most disturbingly, one woman is reported to have died after an abortion. Bernadette Smyth, the director of Precious Life, the leading pro-life group in Northern Ireland, commented on today’s statistics: “Considering last year’s and this year’s intense media coverage of calls for a change in the law on abortion in Northern Ireland, Precious Life are relieved to find that the number of women travelling from Northern Ireland to England and Wales for an abortion has once again decreased from the previous year. We also welcome that there has been a significant drop in the number of women travelling from the Republic of Ireland to England and Wales for an abortion. “But a lot more work needs to be done to support life-affirming pregnancy care centres here and the counselling and practical support available to women facing crisis pregnancies in Northern Ireland. Precious Life are calling on the Department of Health in Northern Ireland to ‘step up’ and promote these centres and the wonderful services they have to offer. “The reported 294 cases of ‘complications’...

Abortions Decline 21% in Alabama Since 2010 / Abortion Businesses Drop Since 2001

Pro-life efforts in Alabama are making a huge difference for unborn babies and their moms across the state. A new report found abortions dropped 21 percent in Alabama in just four years. The Alabama Media Group reports [ http://www.al.com/news/index.ssf/2016/05/abortion_in_alabama_number_of.html ] the new numbers from the state Department of Public Health. In 2014, there were 8,080 abortions in Alabama, a 21 percent drop from the 10,280 abortions in 2010, according to the state. That means 2,200 fewer babies were aborted in just the past four years. According to the report, Alabama’s abortion rate is much lower than the national average with 12 percent of pregnancies ending in abortion, compared to 18 percent of pregnancies nationwide. The Rev. James Henderson, former executive director of the Christian Coalition of Alabama, was encouraged to hear the news and took it as a sign that pro-lifers are making a difference. “According to the Alabama Department of Public Health, our pro-life efforts were the reason [Planned Parenthood] left Huntsville,” Henderson told the news outlet. “In this city, we’ve seen five closures. We’d like to see all of them close.” According to the report, there were 12 abortion clinics in 2001 in Alabama, and now there are five. More abortion facilities could close, too, when a new law goes into effect. Signed by Gov. Robert Bentley on May 12, the law bans abortion facilities from building within 2,000 feet of public elementary or middle schools and prohibits the state health department from issuing or renewing a health center license to current abortion clinics within the same distance of the schools, LifeNews reported. The legislation could close...

Midwives Outraged as Union Boss Agrees to Allow Abortions to Full-Term

MIDWIVES are furious after their union boss agreed to allow abortions to be carried out after the current 24-week cut off – without consulting them. Midwives are furious they were not consulted over supporting a campaign to remove the 24-week limit Cathy Warwick is facing calls to step down as chief executive of the prestigious Royal College of Midwives (RCM) over the harrowing decision AND a clear conflict of interest which has also arisen. Without consulting the union’s 30,000 members, she signed them up to the British Pregnancy Advisory Service (BPAS) campaign to “decriminalise” abortion by getting rid of the 24-week legal cut-off for abortions. But Professor Warwick is also chairman of the BPAS, the country’s biggest abortion provider. I would have thought the RCM should be protecting unborn life, Jim Shannon MP “Appalled” MPs said Prof Warwick should resign and thousands of midwives and members of the public signed a petition called “Not in our name” which demands she reverse the policy as it “represents a disgraceful betrayal of her profession”. Currently, the 1967 Abortion Act states an unborn baby can be aborted until 24 weeks’ gestation, with exceptions only allowed after that on medical grounds. Professor Cathy Warwick is chair of the RCM and BPAS – which carries out abortions The BPAS’s “We Trust Women” campaign was launched in February and proposes “the abortion time limit be removed from criminal law”. Opponents fear changing the law could lead to healthy foetuses being aborted late in pregnancy for non-medical reasons including for the mother’s convenience or to choose the baby’s sex. Advances in medical science are actually pointing...

Obama & His FDA ‘Gift’ the Abortion Industry: Reckless Expansion of Mifepristone (‘Abortion Pill’) Protocol

Late Chemical Abortions = More ‘Failed Abortions = Pay Twice to get a complete abortion… RU-486 makes teen girls ‘bleed out pregnancies,’ often without parents’ knowledge. One of the leading pro-life organizations is fighting back against the Obama administration’s approval for expanded use of the controversial abortion drug combination known as RU-486, calling the government’s decision harmful for women and babies and nothing but a political “thank you” from Obama to his allies in the abortion industry. The Food and Drug Administration, or FDA, which recently clamped down on e-cigarettes and some tobacco products to protect the health of children, is allowing women seeking abortions to take the RU-486 regimen until the 10th week of pregnancy. Previously, the limit was seven weeks. RU-486 is a two-drug regimen. The first starves the unborn baby of nutrients, leading the child to die. Live Action Founder and President Lila Rose says at 10 weeks, that baby is further developed than many realize. “The heart is beating,” she told WND and Radio America. “The brain is forming, leg and arm buds. By the end of the first trimester, the child has all his internal organs and body parts. He just needs time and nourishment to grow. You’re talking about a fairly developed pre-born child.” The second drug is even more powerful. “The second drug [usually misoprostol] induces labor,” Rose said. “It makes a woman bleed out her entire pregnancy as well as the pre-born child. That process can take up to two days” […and can prove extremely painful]. In addition to the FDA giving its approval for RU-486 for an additional three weeks,...

Women Using Abortion as Birth Control: 59% Already Had One Child, 33% Had Two Kids

Despite Americans’ opposition to the idea, some women have admitted to using abortion as a method of birth control. New abortion data hints that this disturbing trend could be continuing. According to a new report by the pro-abortion Guttmacher Institute, more than half of women who had abortions between 2008 and 2014 already had at least one child. Here is more from the report: How individuals achieve their desired family size—including the timing and spacing of any births—is often part of a complicated calculus, and decisions regarding pregnancy outcomes are made in the context of existing and planned children.22,23 In 2014, it continued to be the case that the majority of abortion patients (59%) had had at least one previous birth, including one-third who had had two or more; 41% of abortion patients had had no prior births. These proportions were largely unchanged from 2008. Individuals with one previous birth were overrepresented among abortion patients (index of 1.5), while those with either no prior births or at least two were slightly underrepresented (0.9 and 0.8, respectively). Abortion indices by number of previous births showed virtually no change between 2008 and 2014. The reasons why these women had abortions were not reported; but, as the pro-abortion researchers implied, the abortion industry sells abortion as a means for women to “achieve their desired family size.” Repeat abortions also are startlingly common. According to Guttmacher, approximately 45 percent of women have multiple abortions. Though abortion advocates do not like to mention it, abortions can take a toll on the health of the mother and any subsequent children she may have. Studies have...

Congress Subpoenas Abortionist Leroy Carhart, and Caught Without Lab Permit Since 2013

Update:  Carhart’s Maryland Late-Term Abortion Business Caught Operating without a Lab Permit An inspection of Germantown Reproductive Health Services (GRHS) conducted last fall discovered that the late-term abortion facility had been operating without a current medical laboratory permit. Late-term abortionist LeRoy Carhart, who is under investigation by the House Select Panel on Infant Lives, commits abortions at GRHS in Germantown, Maryland, throughout all nine months of pregnancy. Operation Rescue has obtained a copy of the inspection report dated September 25, 2015, that cites GRHS for failing to maintain a current medical laboratory permit. It allowed its permit to expire in August, 2013. The abortion facility was also cited for displaying an expired license. But perhaps more concerning was a citation for failing to ensure that GRHS employees were proficient in testing women for the Rh blood factor. This had the potential of affecting the health of patients and any future children that they might bear. According to the American Pregnancy Association, “The Rh factor is a type of protein on the surface of red blood cells. Most people who have the Rh factor are Rh-positive. Those who do not have the Rh factor are Rh-negative.” The APA goes on to explain that if a woman is Rh-negative and is pregnant with an Rh-positive baby, the mother can develop antibodies that can attack future babies in the womb. Those antibodies can “break down the fetus’s red blood cells and produce anemia (a condition that happens when the blood has a low number of red blood cells). . . It can become severe enough to cause serious illness, brain damage, or...

‘Miracle’ Baby Gabriel was Saved after His Mother Sought an Abortion Reversal

Abortion Pill Reversal Being 21 years old and in my third year of nursing school, everything was going just right. I had all the materialistic things, I was going out every night, I had the perfect group of friends, I had the perfect good-looking boyfriend, and I was living my dream as a popular college cheerleader— until May 3rd, 2014 came. My boyfriend and I had been fighting for three days and had completely cut off communication with one another. He decided to take a flight to Miami for the weekend and I decided to go out with friends. The next evening around 6 p.m., I was keeled over with a horrible pain in my lower stomach. I begged my mother to drive me to the hospital. After all tests were completed, the doctor entered the room with a stern look on his face and stayed quiet for what felt like hours. “I’m sorry to inform you, but you are pregnant,” were the words that rolled off of his tongue, leaving me feeling paralyzed. It was impossible! I had been on birth control for 8 years! My mother slowly lifted her head with a face of disappointment. I stopped her before she could say anything and told her, “I’m not keeping it. I will have the problem fixed by this week.” I said those words with no shame, as if I had gotten a bad grade that could be fixed so easily. She begged me and begged me to rethink my decision, but I was set. Two weeks later, I was still pregnant and fighting my heart on what...

Moms Post Photos of Their Premature Babies to Expose How Abortion is Legal Till Birth in Most States

Two moms of premature babies are making a huge impact for life on Facebook. The moms, Ashley C. and Whitney S., posted similar messages online in April to raise awareness about late-term abortions and the radical abortion positions of the two Democratic presidential candidates. Since then, tens of thousands of people have shared and viewed their posts online....

10 Quotes from Women Who Had an Abortion by Pill

VIDEO RESOURCE Former abortionist exposes lies about the abortion pill in new video [4 May 2016, http://liveactionnews.org/former-abortionist-exposes-lies-about-the-abortion-pill-in-new-video/ ]   10 Quotes from Women Who Had an Abortion by Pill Women who take the abortion pill RU-486 regimen can face emotional and physical hardship during and after they expel their preborn babies. Medical abortions occur in the first trimester, as described by Dr. Anthony Levatino in the video below: https://youtu.be/lRDnVSMr5j0 Here are excerpts from some women’s stories about their experiences with the abortion pill. A woman who had had both a surgical abortion and an abortion by pill described the aftermath of her pill abortion as: “the worst experience, the most physically and emotionally painful thing, that I’ve ever been through.” She also said: “The pill for me was the experience of having a baby. Contractions for 10 hours, sweating, screaming, being by myself. It was emotionally scarring and physically horrible.”(1) 2. “Rose” had two abortions by surgery and then one by pill. She says: “Overall the worst part of the RU-486 [the abortion pill] was the sheer amount of time it took for me to ‘terminate’ my baby: with each and every large clot of blood – which I literally could feel passing through my insides and then out of my vagina – was a reminder of the fact I was terminating a baby, for which I felt hugely saddened. More than I realized I would.”(2) 3. “Amber” shares her story: “I got a non-surgical abortion. Nothing prepared me for what happened. First off it was the worst pain I have EVER felt in my life. And secondly, I...

Doctors Save 175 Babies from Abortion Through Abortion Pill Reversal

In 2006, Dr. Matthew Harrison was in his office in North Carolina when he received an urgent phone call. A pregnancy care center, for which he is on the board, was calling about a young woman who had taken the RU-486 abortion pill and immediately regretted that decision. The young woman had told her mother about the abortion and the mother called the pregnancy center looking for help. Dr. Harrison had no idea if he would be able to help this woman save her baby, but he was willing to try. The young woman arrived at Dr. Harrison’s office and told him the full story. He informed her that there was no known antidote or treatment to stop the abortion. Unsure of what to do, he stepped out of the office to pray, and then he began searching through medical books, focusing on how RU-486 works. “It attaches to the progesterone receptor in the mother’s body and blocks the action of progesterone, which provides support for a pregnancy in a developing embryo,” explained Dr. Harrison. “When it blocks that receptor, that embryo essentially starves and the placenta separates. Two days later she takes a pill that causes labor and the embryo comes out with a few days.” In the following video, former abortionist Dr. Anthony Levatino describes how the abortion pill works. Dr. Harrison concluded that if he was able to give this young woman extra progesterone it might out compete the RU486 and stop the abortion process. “I told her that it could just prolong the abortion or could cause her to bleed,” said Dr. Harrison. “But she...

Commentary: What Words Sum Up Abortion? Unwanted. Unsafe. Unfair.

It’s actually easy to increase public awareness about abortion’s dangers because polls show that over 90% of people already believe that abortion causes moderate to severe emotional harm. Most people who believe abortion should be legal also believe it is an ugly experience. Yet, they tolerate abortion because they believe it can somehow improve women’s lives. They have heard this repeated over and over for years; but, they are also concerned about how abortion can hurt women. This means that the vast majority of the public is open to a deeper understanding of how harmful abortion really is. That is why it is so important to increase public awareness of both post-abortion trauma and post-abortion healing opportunities. Even the Supreme Court is Reading our Evidence Our studies are even impacting Supreme Court rulings, as happened in Gonzales v. Carhart, the Court’s last major ruling on abortion. Now our studies are before the Supreme Court again. They are being prominently cited in briefs defending the 2014 Texas law, known as HB2. In fact, in oral arguments last month, the Solicitor General of Texas told Justice Ginsburg to specifically look at the briefs citing our studies because they demonstrate “that abortion complications are under-reported.” Abortion is not safer than childbirth, a lie that Ginsburg has uncritically swallowed. We must continue to provide lawyers, judges and lobbyists with the medical research that exposes the lies and exaggerations of abortionists. Do you have a loved one who has struggled with a past abortion? Every week, thousands of women and men come to our web sites to learn more about how to find help...

Exposed: Abortion Pill, RU 486, Mifepristone, Mifeprex — Whatever They Call it, it Harms Women & Kills Babies

In a stunningly reckless move, President Obama’s Food and Drug Administration (FDA) recently relaxed standards for the abortion pill [originally called] RU-486. The new guidelines expand its use to abort babies who are even more developed in the womb, and require even less physician supervision of a drug that has hospitalized —and even killed— women. The abortion industry has been increasingly pushing abortion pills, telling women that RU-486 isn’t a REAL abortion. They’ve convinced women that “just taking a pill” early in the pregnancy when the baby is “just a clump of cells” isn’t really killing a child. With these new FDA guidelines, we’re seeing them push that lie even further. Today, Live Action launches its latest video to expose these abortion industry lies and the recklessness of the FDA’s decision — https://www.facebook.com/liveaction/videos/10154118219668728/ In this new video, Dr. Anthony Levatino, an OB/GYN who performed over 1200 abortions, uses medically accurate animations inside the womb to show how RU-486 abortion slowly starves a baby to death over a period of days. He also details how amazingly developed the baby is at this early stage and the pill’s potentially dangerous effects on the mother. These laxer FDA rules will bring huge financial benefits to the abortion industry. While the FDA’s expansion of RU-486’s use from seven weeks of pregnancy to 10 weeks is sure to increase the abortion industry’s clientele, according to the FDA’s own numbers, it also means TRIPLE the drug’s failure rate of the old seven-week limit. This will inevitably lead to more women — and their babies — being subjected to two abortions, as abortionists must then perform...

U.S. Late Term Abortion Numbers

On 15 March 2016, the U.S. Senate Judiciary Committee conducted a hearing entitled ‘Late-Term Abortion: Protecting Babies Born Alive and Capable of Pain’, during consideration of late-term abortion ban legislation. In conjunction, Operation Rescue released a report on the number of late-term abortion facilities in the nation. Currently in the USA, there are 511 active surgical abortion sites. Of those, 162 surgical abortion places abort babies at 20 weeks gestation or later, and 122 of those say they do not abort babies after 24 weeks. Five abortion sites openly abort babies throughout all nine months of pregnancy, including Martin Haskell’s Women’s Med Center in Dayton, OH. [April-May 2016, Cincinnati Right to Life Ed. Fdn. Inc. Whole Women’s Health vs. Hellerstedt: 2016 Supreme Court Challenge

On 2 March 2016, the U.S. Supreme Court [SCOTUS] heard arguments for and against Whole Women’s Health vs. Hellerstedt, which is a pro-abortion challenge to the Texas law that abortionists shall follow medical health and safety standards to protect women seeking abortions. The major regulation states that abortionists must have admitting privileges at a hospital within a 30-mile radius and operate under the same rules as any outpatient surgery facility. Whole Women’s Health vs. Hellerstedt is the first abortion case the SCOTUS has agreed to hear since 2007, when it upheld the federal partial-birth abortion ban. SCOTUS will decide whether abortion businesses must follow the law, as all other medical facilities do. This decision will affect other states. Currently, 29 states prescribe health and safety standards for abortion businesses, and 15 require abortionists to have admitting privileges at a local hospital, or to have patient transfer/covering physician agreements with another doctor who has hospital privileges, in order to ensure knowledgeable care for the injured woman. In early February 2016, OH AG Mike DeWine joined with 23 other states in the filing of an Amicus curiae (‘Friend of the Court’ brief) in support of the Texas law, which is similar to Ohio’s law. Many other briefs have been filed on both sides, and the present administration also filed its own brief in opposition to the Texas law. SCOTUS is expected to release its decision in June 2016. Doctor Refuses to Say What Happens to Babies After They’re Aborted at Planned Parenthood

Missouri state legislators are closer to learning what goes on behind the scenes at Planned Parenthood, but their state investigation faced a new roadblock this week after a pathologist who works with the abortion giant refused to testify. State legislators launched an investigation of Planned Parenthood last year after undercover videos revealed some of the abortion business’s top officials discussing the trafficking of aborted babies’ body parts. One of the undercover videos mentioned the abortion chain’s St. Louis clinic as an “untapped supplier” of baby body parts. Planned Parenthood leaders in Missouri stalled the investigation when they failed to answer a state subpoena for information in November. Late last week, the abortion group finally reached an agreement with state lawmakers to hand over documents pertaining to its disposal of aborted babies’ bodies, according to the St. Louis Post-Dispatch. Keep up with the latest pro-life news and information on Twitter. However, pathologist James Miller, the owner of Pathology Services of St. Louis, which works with Planned Parenthood to analyze fetal tissue, is refusing to testify after he also was subpoenaed for information, ABC 17 News reports. An attorney for Miller told the news outlet that he planned to use his fifth amendment rights against self-incrimination to not testify in front of the state Senate. Miller and Mary Kogut, president and CEO of Planned Parenthood of the St. Louis Region and Southwest Missouri, had been summoned to testify in front of the state Senate on Monday to explain why they did not answer the subpoena; but the meeting was canceled when Planned Parenthood finally agreed to comply, according to the report....
