Reasons for Abstinence

A Letter to a Friend: "Hold Out for Chastity" (Pat Driscoll)

A Letter to a Friend: "Hold Out for Chastity" by Pat Driscoll Pat Driscoll was the founder and director of Womanity, an organization dedicated to promoting Chastity. [Ed. NOTE: The term Womanity has been taken over online and on Facebook by other groups NOT associated with the concept of Chastity.] Having sex has become a form of entertainment, or the "payment" a boyfriend expects at the end of a date. many of out teens are being pressured into having sex when they are the ones who have to live with the consequences. Recently I received a letter from a young lady who wanted help in dealing with her boyfriend. She wrote: "Could you send me all of your pamphlets? I'm in a bad situation and I need to show these to my boyfriend who really wants to do it, but I keep refusing. I would really appreciate it." The following is my response to her, and to all who need help in fending off the pressure to give in. Thank you for writing Womanity requesting our pamphlets so you will have some good reasons to give your boyfriend who is pressuring you to have sex. Yours is a very common situation. Many girls give in, beaten down by the arguments of the boyfriend: "We love each other so we should express it physically." "Everybody's doing it." "It's OK if we use birth control." "We're going to get married eventually, so it's all right." Many girls give in because they get so turned on with kissing, hugging, caressing. They keep going — a little further in petting each time until...

An Open Letter to a Wavering Virgin

An Open Letter to a Wavering Virgin In this Letter, Mary Beth Bonacci is responding to a letter from a Herald newspaper reader, written on behalf of a friend… I got a letter from a friend of yours today. She said you're being "tempted," and she's worried about you. She asked me to help her help you to be strong. I could start by telling you the things you probably already know. Sex in the 90's is dangerous. You might get pregnant – no matter how you try to "protect" yourself. And sexually transmitted diseases are no longer a possibility but a probability if your partner's ever been with anyone else. Chlamydia can destroy your fertility. The sexually transmitted human papillomavirus (HPV) leads to [several types of] cancer. AIDS will kill you.  Each is an epidemic, not an occasional rare complication. And the condom does nothing to prevent the first two, and fails over 31% of the time in preventing AIDS. You've probably heard all of that. It may have scared you for a while. It should. But I bet, in the end, it's not enough to scare you out of doing it. There are a lot of forces pressuring you into sex, even if you're unaware of it. TV and movies, for starters. Virgins are hard to come by on prime time TV. Sure, 90210 has Donna, but how attractive does her lifestyle look next to Dylan and Kelly, or Brandon and whichever ex-girlfriend/ older woman/new girl in town he happens to hook up with on any particular episode? The sexually active crowd look like they're having a...

Homosexual Duke Univ Director Charged with Offering Adopted 5-Year-Old for Sex (30June09)

An openly homosexual Duke University official has been charged with delivering up his 5-year-old adopted African American son to sexual predators online. Frank Lombard, the 42-year-old associate director of the Center for Health Policy and a licensed clinical social worker, was arrested Wednesday after he invited an undercover police officer to take advantage of one of his two sons, whom he had adopted with his male partner.  The Washington D.C. Metropolitan Police Department and the FBI conducted the sting operation. Investigators were tipped off to Lombard's criminal activity by an informant who said he had seen Lombard molest an African-American child four times over an Internet video chat service called ICUii.  The informant said Lombardi described himself on his profile as "perv dad for fun." According to the arrest warrant filed by D.C. Metropolitan Det. Timothy Palchak, Lombard told the undercover detective that he had raped his son on several occasions since infancy, and that "the abuse of the child was easier when the child was too young to talk or know what was happening, but that he had drugged the child with Benadryl during the molestation." The FBI stated that two children have been taken from Lombard's home and put into protective custody by the North Carolina Department of Social Services. Lombard will be transferred to Washington, D.C. this week to face federal charges, and could face up to 20 years in prison if convicted. Duke University spokesman Michael Schoenfeld told ABC News that Lombard, a Duke employee since 1999, has been placed on unpaid leave. Family Research Institute Chairman Dr. Paul Cameron has said that the case...

Homosexuality and Child Sex Abuse

SUMMARY: The circle of abuse is the tragic legacy of the attempts by homosexuals to legitimize having sex with boys. For too many boys it is already too late to protect them from those who took advantage of their need for love and attention. All too many later perpetrate the abuse by themselves engaging in the sexual abuse of boys. Only by exposing the lies, insincere denials, and deceptions — including those wrapped in scholastic garb — of those who prey sexually on children, can we hope to build a wall of protection around the helpless children among us.  At the same time, defenders of homosexuality argue that youth organizations such as the Boy Scouts should be forced to include homosexuals among their adult leaders. Similarly, the Gay Lesbian and Straight Education Network (GLSEN), a homosexual activist organization that targets schools, has spearheaded the formation of "Gay-Straight Alliances" among students. GLSEN encourages homosexual teachers–even in the youngest grades–to be open about their sexuality, as a way of providing role models to "gay" students. In addition, laws or policies banning employment discrimination based on "sexual orientation" usually make no exception for those who work with children or youth. Many parents have become concerned that children may be molested, encouraged to become sexually active, or even "recruited" into adopting a homosexual identity and lifestyle. Gay activists dismiss such concerns–in part, by strenuously insisting that there is no connection between homosexuality and the sexual abuse of children. However, despite efforts by homosexual activists to distance the gay lifestyle from pedophilia, there remains a disturbing connection between the two. This is because, by...

Study Links Brain Defects to Pedophilia (2007)

Study Links Brain Defects to Pedophilia (2007) Missing Tissue; Psychiatrist says he was taken aback by results A Canadian study involving MRI brain scans has uncovered intriguing new evidence that pedophiles are compelled to commit their reviled crimes because of neurological flaws. The brains of such offenders seem to contain considerably less white matter than those of non-sexual criminals, the research concluded. That missing tissue could indicate a breakdown in the neurological network that processes erotic signals — leading to an abnormal attraction to children, the authors theorize. Dr. James Cantor, the psychologist who led the study, said he was taken aback by the variations between the pedophiles and non-sexual offenders. "It's actually quite a dramatic difference," he said. "I expected … to find some tiny little area of the brain that might be different between one group and the other. Instead I found these large swaths of material that was very low in volume [in pedophiles]." Those brain deficiencies might be caused by something that harmed the fetus while their mothers were pregnant. If so, identifying that influence could help prevent the creation of potential new pedophiles, said the paper just published in the Journal of Psychiatric Research. Outside experts raised some questions about the validity of the results, but said the findings, if borne out with more research, would be a major step forward in understanding sexual impulses generally. "If it turns out to be found in everyone who has this problem, it would [point to] the mechanism for not only normal sexual interest but abnormal sexual interest too," said Paul Federoff, a psychologist at the Royal...

An Expert Questions a Study Denying Child Porn is a Risk Factor for Future Sex Offenses (7/09)

An Expert Questions a Study which Showed Child Porn is Not a Risk Factor for Future Sex Offenses A new study by the Swiss Department of Justice and Psychiatric/Psychological Service purports to show that for people without a prior conviction for a hands-on sex offense, the viewing of internet child pornography does not seem to represent a risk factor for committing such an offense. Dr. Judith Reisman, however, the president of the Institute for Media Education and one of the foremost experts on the effects of pornography and its relationship to violent crime, has questioned the results of the Swiss study. Resiman told LifeSiteNews.com (LSN) that a defense of the use of child pornography as non-causal to subsequent sex abuse of children was "ludicrous." The study, published by the online peer-reviewed journal BMC Psychiatry, was conducted by researchers from the Swiss Department of Justice and the University of Constance, Germany, led by Dr. Frank Urbaniok. The study population consisted of 231 men, who were subsequently charged with consumption of illegal pornographic material after being detected by a special operation against Internet child pornography, conducted by the Swiss police in 2002. Criminal history, as well as recidivism, was assessed using the criminal records from 2008. Urbaniok and colleagues were able to corroborate that the offenders were well educated and that most consumed other types of illegal pornography as well, such as pornography depicting sexual acts with animals, excrement, or involving brutality. The report states that the 2008 criminal records of the men charged indicated only 1% of the offenders had gone on to commit a hands-on sex offense in the...

Adverse Health Effects of Homosexuality (update July 2013)

The Negative Health Effects of Homosexuality UPDATE: Men Having Sex with Men [MSM] Are At Far Greater Risk for Cancer, STDs, Infections: Systematic Review As the homosexual movement makes gains in public opinion and politics, the dissenting voice of science continues to unearth health problem after health problem associated with gay sexual behavior. A systematic review of PubMed articles dealing with homosexual activity (MSM) and cancer rates found that rates for various cancers skyrocketed for men engaging in homosexual activity.  The study, titled “Cancer and men who have sex with men: a systematic review,” was published in The Lancet last December: http://www.thelancet.com/journals/lanonc/article/PIIS1470-2045%2812%2970347-9/abstract Researchers examined 47 reports that merited inclusion in their study of sexual orientation and cancer rates. They found that the majority of the reports agree that MSM is a significant risk factor for cancer. Researchers found that a dozen of the 47 studies focused on the risk factors for anal cancer, including HPV infection in the anal canal. The studies indicated that “not being exclusively heterosexual significantly increased the risk of anal cancer.” One report found that “anal HPV infection and abnormal anal cytology were highest in boys with a homosexual or bisexual orientation.” A French report of HIV-clinic outpatients found that “MSM had a greater prevalence of HPV infection than did heterosexual men who injected drugs” (85 percent vs 46 percent), that MSM were found to be “infected with several types of HPV [more often] than were heterosexual men who injected drugs” (61 percent vs 26 percent), and that “more MSM had cytologic abnormalities than did men who injected drugs” (72 percent vs 36 percent). A...

NEW! CDC: 94 to 95 Percent of 2011 HIV Cases Among Young Men Linked to Homosexual Sex NEW! Bans on Homosexual Promotion Advance Despite Western Outrage Homosexual Activist in Hot Water for Revealing Conspiracy to Promote Homosexuality High Occurrence in Africa of HIV among Homosexual Men Study Finds     CDC: 94 to 95 Percent of 2011 HIV Cases Among Young Men Linked to Homosexual Sex A graphic from a CDC (Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, ( http://www.lifesitenews.com/news/cdc-94-to-95-percent-of-hiv-cases-among-boys-and-young-men-linked-to-gay-se?utm_source=LifeSiteNews.com+Daily+Newsletter&utm_campaign=5e8eaa5d04-LifeSiteNews_com_US_Headlines_06_19_2013&utm_medium=email&utm_term=0_0caba610ac-5e8eaa5d04-326232694 ) online slide presentation, “HIV Surveillance in Adolescents and Young Adults” [1] – breaks down the incidence of HIV among young men ages 13-24. In 2011, an astonishing 94.9 percent of HIV diagnoses among teenage boys (13-19-years-old) were linked to homosexual (“male-to-male”) sex. And 94.1 percent of the cases among young men ages 20-24 (more analysis below) were from all types of sex. With the incidence of HIV among men so closely tied to homosexual sex, shouldn’t the government and all concerned and compassionate adults be urging young men and teenaged boys NOT to engage in or experiment with dangerous homosexual behavior? And yet, the CDC and other pro-”gay” institutions (including many schools public and private) are doing exactly the opposite, as they focus instead on affirming “gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender” youth as a “sexual minority.” Another CDC document, “HIV and Young Men Who Have Sex with Men” (June 2012), reports that in 2011, the CDC awarded funds to two homosexual activists groups — the Gay, Lesbian, and Straight Education Network (GLSEN) and the Gay-Straight Alliance Network (GSAN) — “to assist CDC-funded public health and environmental changes to help...

Homosexual Family Kids 4 – 10 Times More Likely to be 'Non-Heterosexual' (6/09)

A licensed psychologist with both clinical and forensic practice outreaches is warning that it appears children of homosexual couples are seven times more likely to develop "non-heterosexual preferences" than other children, but lawmakers establishing policy often don't know that because the researchers have concealed their discoveries. "Research … although not definitive, suggests that children reared by openly homosexual parents are far more likely to engage in homosexual behavior than children raised by others," said the online report by Trayce L. Hansen. Studies she reviewed suggest children raised by homosexual or bisexual parents "are approximately seven times more likely than the general population to develop a non-heterosexual sexual preference." The "studies thus far find that between 8 percent and 21 percent of homosexually parented children ultimately identify as non-heterosexual," the psychologist wrote. "For comparison purposes, approximately 2 percent of the general population are non-heterosexual. Therefore, if these percentages continue to hold true, children of homosexuals have a 4 to 10 times greater likelihood of developing a non-heterosexual preference than other children." However, those researchers who found such differences "nonetheless declared in their research summaries that no differences were found," the report said. "Many believe they concealed their findings so as not to harm their own pro-homosexual, sociopolitical agendas," the report said. For example, among the numerous studies Hansen reviewed was the 1996 work by Golombok and Tasker. The authors of the study specifically looking at children of homosexual parents found "the large majority of children who grew up in lesbian families identified as heterosexual." However, Hansen said in the study, in order for an adult child to be classified as...

Commentary: APA Changes Tune on Genetic Nature of Homosexuality (5/09)

Commentary: American Psychological Association Changes Tune on Genetic Nature of Homosexuality  In 1998, the American Psychological Association (APA) published a brochure titled "Answers to Your Questions about Sexual Orientation and Homosexuality." This particular document was ostensibly published to provide definitive answers about homosexuality. However, few of the assertions made in the brochure could find any basis in psychological science. Clearly a document anchored more in activism than in empiricism, the brochure was simply a demonstration of how far APA had strayed from science, and how much it had capitulated to activism. The newest APA brochure, which appears to be an update of the older one, is titled, "Answers to Your Questions for a Better Understanding of Sexual Orientation & Homosexuality." Though both brochures have strong activist overtones (both were created with "editorial assistance from the APA Committee on Lesbian, Gay and Bisexual Concerns"), the newer document is more reflective of science and more consistent with the ethicality of psychological care. Consider the following statement from the first document: "There is considerable recent evidence to suggest that biology, including genetic or inborn hormonal factors, play a significant role in a person's sexuality." That statement was omitted from the current document and replaced with the following: "There is no consensus among scientists about the exact reasons that an individual develops a heterosexual, bisexual, gay or lesbian orientation. Although much research has examined the possible genetic, hormonal, developmental, social, and cultural influences on sexual orientation, no findings have emerged that permit scientists to conclude that sexual orientation is determined by any particular factor or factors. Many think that nature and nurture both...

Oral Cancer, Head & Neck Cancer, in Men Associated With HPV (5/2008)

ORAL CANCER IN MEN ASSOCIATED WITH HPV. The sexually transmitted virus called HPV, or human papillomavirus, is well known to lead to cervical cancer in women. Now researchers are finding that many oral cancers in men are also associated with the virus. A clinical trial testing therapies for advanced tongue and tonsil cancers has found that more than 40 percent of the tumors in men were infected with HPV. If there is good news in the finding, it is that these HPV-associated tumors were among the most responsive to treatment. Of an estimated 28,900 cases of oral cancer a year, 18,550 are in men. HPV can enter the mouth during oral sex. A study published in February by researchers at Johns Hopkins estimated that 38 percent of oral squamous-cell cancers are HPV related, and suggested that their increasing number might be a result of changing sexual behaviors. The new study, published in two papers in The Journal of Clinical Oncology, included 51 men and 15 women with cancers of the tonsils or the base of tongue. The researchers were able to examine biopsies of 42 of the subjects before treatment. After tests for HPV, the researchers found that 27 tumors, nearly two-thirds, were positive for the virus. Of the 51 men, researchers found 22 with HPV. Other experts found the results interesting, but said it was unclear what they would mean for treatment. Finding the answer to that question is the next step, said to Dr. Maura L. Gillison, an associate professor of oncology at Johns Hopkins who was not involved in the study. Dr. Gillison added, “All of...

Cytomegalovirus Infection During Pregnancy (CDC, 2008)

Cytomegalovirus (CMV) — A herpes infection that causes serious illness in people with AIDS. CMV can develop in any part of the body but most often appears in the retina of the eye, the nervous system, the colon or the esophagus. [American Social Health Association, http://www.ashastd.org/learn/learn_glossary_A_D.cfm] Knowledge and Practices of Obstetricians and Gynecologists Regarding Cytomegalovirus Infection During Pregnancy — United States, 2007 In the United States, congenital cytomegalovirus (CMV) infection occurs in approximately 1 in 150 live births (1), leading to permanent disabilities (e.g., hearing loss, vision loss, and cognitive impairment) in approximately 1 in 750 live-born children (2). A common mode of CMV transmission to a pregnant woman is through close contact with infected bodily fluids such as urine or saliva, especially from young children (3). Because no vaccine is available and treatment options are limited, renewed attention has been given to prevention of CMV infections among pregnant women through traditional infection-control practices, such as good hand hygiene (3). These practices have been encouraged by organizations such as CDC and the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (ACOG) (4), which recommend that obstetricians and gynecologists (OB/GYNs) counsel women on careful handling of potentially CMV-infected articles, such as diapers, and thorough hand washing after close contact with young children (Box). Despite this increased emphasis on avoiding infection during pregnancy, few women are aware of CMV infection and how it can be prevented (5). During March–May 2007, ACOG surveyed a national sample of OB/GYNs to assess their knowledge and practices regarding CMV infection prevention. This report describes the results of that survey, which indicated that fewer than half (44%) of...

The Impotence Pandemic

Sex therapists and pornographers have long prescribed pornography to correct male impotence and to "spice up" a couple's sex life. However, the broader meaning of "potency" is "power, authority … a person or thing exerting power or influence." The proper contextual definition of modern impotence, then, is not the narrow classification of "erectile dysfunction." One is not “potent” if one requires little blue pills, sexy pictures, or immature victims for sexual satisfaction. It is more accurate then to define men as impotent when they are unable to be conjugally intimate with their chosen beloved. Princeton University professor of psychiatry Jeffrey Satinover said, "The pornography addict soon forgets about everything and everyone else in favor of an ever more elusive sexual jolt. He … will place at risk his career, his friends, his family." Satinover compared pornography to heroin, saying, "Only the delivery system … and the sequence of steps" differ. Moreover, the sequence from potent to impotent is swift. Professor Mary Anne Layden of the University of Pennsylvania compared pornography's rapid effects to that of "crack cocaine." The impotent man replaces his “partner” with a fantasy. For, says neurobiologist Peter Milner, "unfamiliar stimuli have a rewarding component. It is even possible to become addicted to novelty and uncertainty." Indeed. French neuroscientist Serge Stoleru found that overexposure to "erotic" stimuli exhausted the sexual responses of normal, healthy young men. Someone once dubbed pornography "the opiate of the masses," an endogenous opiate high called "lust" that makes wholesome, loving sensuality feel ho-hum. Pornography triggers high states of fear-shame-lust arousal ("flight/fight/sex"), quite the opposite of a faithful love. No wonder even devoted...

Consequences of "Hooking Up": paying a high price for rotten fruit…(updated)

Depending on the survey, an estimated 40% to 80% of college-aged women "hook up" during their college years. In other words, they engage in casual, non-committal sexual activity with multiple partners. According to Dr. Miriam Grossman [staff psychiatrist at UCLA Psychological Services], the consequences of the "hook-up culture" include:  Young unmarried women who are sexually active are three times more likely to suffer from depression and three times more likely to attempt suicide than girls who are not sexually active. Sexually active college-aged women are at a significantly greater risk for developing eating disorders, cutting themselves, and performing other acts of self-mutilation. 43% of sexually active women will contract HPV, a STD/STI that can lead to cervical cancer. Three new mainstream books have rolled off the presses that focus on "how rotten the fruit of the sexual revolution is": "Unprotected" by Dr. Miriam Grossman (Sentinel, $23.95) "Unhooked" by Laura Sessions Stepp (Riverhead, $24.95) "The Thrill of the Chaste" by Dawn Eden (Thomas Nelson, $13.99) A fourth book,  "Girls Gone Mild: Young Women Reclaim Self-Respect and Find It's Not Bad to Be Good" by Wendy Shalit takes a pro-active approach by trying to persuade the reader that true strength and happiness come not from deadening one's emotions and having sex for fun, but from practicing modesty and self-restraint.  Grossman, a psychiatrist at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) condemns politically correct campus cultures that encourage students to wear sunscreen and forego fast food, but whitewash the consequences of promiscuity.   Washington Post journalist Sessions Stepp echoes Grossman's thesis, chronicaling the emotional and relational consequences promiscuity had on nine young women immersed in...

Canadian Research Suggests 1.4% of Adults Homosexual (3/07)

According to two researchers, the largest random sex survey ever conducted has reported that about 1.4% of adults engaged in homosexual behavior. Analyzing a 2003 Canadian Community survey of 121,300 adults, Drs. Paul and Kirk Cameron told attendees of the Eastern Psychological Association Convention that 2% of 18-44 year olds, 1% of 50 year olds, and only a third of a percent of subjects 60+ considered themselves homosexual. Thus homosexual activity was much more common among younger adults.   "What happened to the older homosexuals? Some may have ceased to be sexually active," said Paul Cameron, "or they may have died. Recent reports from Scandinavia indicate that the life expectancy of homosexuals is 20+ years shorter than that of heterosexuals."   Among other questions (read to respondent by interviewer), the Canadian study asked: "Do you consider yourself to be: heterosexual? (sexual relations with people of the opposite sex)/ homosexual, that is lesbian or gay? (sexual relations with people of your own sex)/ bisexual? (sexual relations with people of both sexes)."   "No one can say that this statistic is 'the bedrock truth,'" Paul Cameron said, "but even with attempts to increase the percentage of active homosexuals – which Statistics Canada appears to have done by reporting only the results of those under the age of 60 – the 1.4% is a figure that has to be taken very seriously.   "The US government survey of 12,381 adults in 1996, reported that 1.3% of men and 1.1% of women under the age of 60 said they'd had homosexual sex in the last 12 months. It also found few older homosexuals. The...

FDA: Gay Men Still Banned from Donating Blood Over Documented Risk Concerns (5/07)

Despite attempts by pro-homosexual advocates to paint the homosexual lifestyle as just another, normal, and healthy lifestyle choice, the FDA has renewed its 1983 policy that gay men cannot donate blood, due to the high-risk nature of living an active homosexual lifestyle.   This past Wednesday the FDA stated that, despite mounting opposition to the policy, it will for medical reasons continue to uphold its ban on men who live or who have lived an active homosexual life from donating blood.   According to the FDA, the ban is in place because, “A history of male-to-male sex is associated with an increased risk for the presence of and transmission of certain infectious diseases, including HIV, the virus that causes AIDS.”   The FDA policy relating to homosexual men is unique in its severity. While there is a lengthy list of criteria by which a potential donor may be deferred from donating blood (such as visiting particular African countries), such bans usually expire after a certain period of time. The ban on homosexual men, however, applies to any man who has ever had sex with another man, even once, subsequent to 1977.   The Administration, however, argues that the strictness of the ban is justified, pointing out that the “policy is intended to protect all people who receive blood transfusions from an increased risk of exposure to potentially infected blood and blood products.”   Some, however, are arguing that the FDA’s policy is discriminatory against homosexual men. Arthur Caplan, in an editorial for NBC6 argues that new testing technologies alleviate any fear that patients may contract AIDS by receiving a...

Role of Alcohol and Drugs in Premarital Sex, Pregnancy, and STIs

Premarital sex places young persons at immediate risk for pregnancy and increases their risk for all STDs/STIs, including HIV. More than 700,000 teenagers become pregnant each year (updated August 2007)… More than 700,000 teenagers become pregnant each year.(1)   Many people would be shocked to learn that 34% of girls become pregnant at least once before age 20(2) and 11% of pregnant 15- to 17-year-olds have already been pregnant at least once before.(3) This last item is even more significant, considering 20% of teen females are sexually active before the age of 15, and 14% of those with early sexual debut will become pregnant during their teen years.(3) According to 2004 data for US, of the 700,000+ teen pregnancies, there were 415,262 births to 15-19 year olds and 6,791 births to females <15 years of age.  [CDC. Evelyn Hooker PhD

The Mother of the Homosexual Movement Although few have heard of her outside the movement she helped to shape, the psychologist Evelyn Hooker's contributions to the advance of the homosexual political movement puts her in an historical class with Margaret Sanger, the foundress of Planned Parenthood and institutionalized abortion, and Alfred Kinsey the "father" of the sexual revolution.   Hooker, a professor of psychology at the University of California at Los Angeles for 30 years, is credited in the medical and psychological community, and most especially amongst homosexual political activists, with establishing that there is no measurable psychological difference between heterosexual and homosexual men. Her work introduced and developed the idea that homosexuality, far from being a mental disorder, is merely a normal minority variant on human sexuality.   Hooker's influential study on the issue, first published in 1957 in the Journal of Projective Techniques, was and still is presented as proof that homosexual activity is normal and as valid a lifestyle as heterosexuality. The first of several studies that Hooker published, the 1957 study served as a foundation for most of the homosexual movement's political and philosophical orthodoxies, including the assertion that any objection to the agenda is born from an irrational fear, since labelled "homophobia."   Born in 1907, Hooker lived long enough to receive the 1991 Award for Distinguished Contribution to Psychology in the Public Interest, from the American Psychological Association. The citation on the award read, "Her pioneering study, published in 1957 … provided empirical evidence that normal homosexuals existed, and supported the radical idea then emerging that homosexuality is within the normal range of...
