Quotes to Note

The heart of the abortion problem, therefore, is not merely whether or not to choose abortion, but whether or not to establish loving, godly, face-to-face relationships with other persons.

Abortion is the delayed consequence of human faces having hardened into façades (courtesy of Helena Rubenstein, Max Factor, Calvin Klein, GQ, or the Wall Street Journal).

The effort to reverse abortion through political persuasions is, of course, both needed and urgent.

But this effort must be accompanied by advising, inspiring, and teaching others about the irreplaceable origin of morality in the loving look on the countenance of the other.

A special effort to achieve this, natural though it is, will be needed given our situation in an impersonal, technological world.

We should take heart, however, in the words of personalist philosopher Jacques Maritain: “As individuals, we are subject to the stars. As persons, we rule them.”

We need not be victims of our environment.

The primary responsibility, then, of every human being is being human.

In that act of being human one finds his authentic personhood as a dynamic integration of individual uniqueness and social responsibility, and as a creative fusion of love and generosity.

 ~ Professor Donald DeMarco

  • I'm Pregnant! What Do I Do Now?  ( 14 items )

First of all, take time to learn about all your alternatives. Don't let anyone force you into a decision you will regret. You are the one who will live with the consequences of your decision. You have the right to choose life.

    Abortion is forever...

If she is not alive, why is she growing?

If she is not a human being, what kind of being is she?

If she is not a child, why is she sucking her thumb?

If she is a living, human child, why is it legal to kill her?                [Right to Life Crusade, Inc., Tulsa, OK]

  • Defending Life -- Reasoned Responses  ( 36 items )
  • RU 486 / Chemical Abortion / \'TeleMed\' Abortions  ( 16 items )

The function of RU 486 / mifepristone / mifeprex is to cause an early, chemical abortion, termed a 'medical' or 'medication' abortion.

Several documented deaths of women who were aborting with RU 486 have occurred.

Infection is another adverse effect of medication abortions.

Ella, while marketed as a contraceptive, is in the same family as RU 486 / mifepristone, and acts as an abortifacient (causes an early abortion).

TeleMed Abortions are being marketed in Iowa by Planned Parenthood. A woman consults briefly over internet with a physician [sic] and then given these very potent pills. There is no examination, no verification of the woman's health -- no physician oversight whatsoever. This is a very dangerous development and all pregnant women need to be protected from such shoddy medical practice.

  • Abortion Violence to Women - Abuse/Coercion  ( 34 items )

Abortion is often not wanted by the woman. Studies now show that 30% to 60% of all women procuring abortions feel pressured to do so. Homicides of pregnant women are on the rise, often because women refuse to kill their unborn children.

  • Possible Abortion Complications to Women  ( 48 items )

Generally, 10% of women who undergo abortion suffer serious physical problems.

    www.benotafraid.net

BeNotAfraid.net is an online outreach to parents who have received a poor or difficult prenatal diagnosis.

The family stories, articles, and links within this site are presented as a resource for those who may be asked to choose between terminating a pregnancy or continuing on despite the diagnosis.

The benotafraid.net families faced the same decision and chose not to terminate. By sharing our experiences, we hope to offer encouragement to those who may be afraid to continue...

At most, 1%-2% of the 1,300,000 abortions performed in the USA each year are procured for rape and incest; about the same number for genetic variations.

Often, doctors press mothers to abort in order to simplify their own medical treatment and avoid the risk of legal action against them. Their own protection may be more important to them than protection for the fragile life within, or for the mother's emotional well-being later.

Improving medical technology has all but eliminated the "need" for abortion, even if the mother's physical health is endangered. Medical treatments are now usually capable of protecting both patients - mother and child.

    Prenatal Partners For Life
    http://www.prenatalpartnersforlife.org/

Prenatal Partners for Life is a group of concerned parents (most of whom have or had a special needs child), medical professionals, legal professionals and clergy whose aim is to support, inform and encourage expectant or new parents.

We offer support by connecting parents facing an adverse diagnosis (for example, Downs Syndrome, Trisomy 18, Anacephaly) with other parents who have had the same diagnosis.

We have many resources such as adoption agencies with clients waiting to adopt and love a special needs child should a parent feel they could not care for them.

We provide bereavement support including financial aid for funeral costs and markers should a beloved child not survive long after birth.

We also provide education and support for those in the medical community who are charged with the care of these "extra special" needs children.

We believe each child is a special gift ... and there must be an alternative to abortion and infanticide.

Most women, if really allowed to choose, would choose to give birth.

Find out why...Let's Love Them Both...
