The function of RU 486 / mifepristone / mifeprex is to cause an early, chemical abortion, termed a 'medical' or 'medication' abortion.

This is a very dangerous development and all pregnant women need to be protected from such shoddy medical practice.

Abortion is often not wanted by the woman. Studies now show that 30% to 60% of all women procuring abortions feel pressured to do so. Homicides of pregnant women are on the rise, often because women refuse to kill their unborn children.

Generally, 10% of women who undergo abortion suffer serious physical problems.

Approximately 1 of every 500 abortions involves life-threatening complications for the mother.
