PLANNED PARENTHOOD DAY WAS APRIL 24: PP ACCUSED OF REPRODUCTIVE RACISM AND UNETHICAL BUSINESS PRACTICES.
American Life League is working with Students for Life of America, as
well as other national pro-life groups, to increase congressional
support for defunding Planned Parenthood.
On April
24, there was a silent protest in front of the PP in Washington, D.C.,
followed by a press conference at 11 a.m. with African-American
leaders.
Below is an
excerpt from an e-mail blast that SFLA sent out last week:"Join SFLA on
Thursday, April 24th to tell Congress that the Racism and Unethical
Business Practices of Planned Parenthood should not be funded with
tax-payer dollars…
This is what Planned Parenthood has been up to:
** Planned
Parenthood is currently under criminal investigation in KS for
falsifying documents and performing illegal late-term abortions.
** In CA, a
former Planned Parenthood employee has accused CA Planned Parenthood of
defrauding taxpayers upwards of $180 million.
** A recent video of YouTube shows a Planned Parenthood Development
Director “excited” at the possibility of taking money specifically
earmarked to kill black children.
** The Alan Guttmacher Institute, along with the CDC, show that a huge
majority of abortion businesses are located in minority neighborhood
[sic] and some experts estimate the number at higher than 75%.
** Planned Parenthood is the nation’s largest provider of abortions. They have over 850 centers across the country.
** In OH, a Planned Parenthood is being charged with failing to report the rape of a 16 year old by her father.
** Recently, a Wall Street Journal story reported that Planned
Parenthood is going to spend an unprecedented $10 million this election
cycle.
Planned Parenthood receives over $300 million dollars each year from
the federal government. For more information, contact

PLANNED PARENTHOOD ACCUSED OF $180 MILLION FRAUD. The
latest victim of Planned Parenthood's thieving appears to be none other
than the California government.
A former Vice President of Finance for
the L.A. affiliate, P. Victor Gonzales, has filed a whistleblower suit
in federal court, claiming that Planned Parenthood committed years of
fraudulent overbilling against government-funded programs.
Gonzales
submitted documents spanning the late 1990s to 2004, including a series
of audits, which suggest that the nation's biggest abortion merchant
may have swindled upward of $180 million from California taxpayers.
Gonzales says he was fired in 2004 after repeated attempts to address
the "illegal accounting, billing, and donation practices of Planned
Parenthood" with his supervisors.
According to Gonzales's attorney,
Planned Parenthood manipulated its status as a charitable organization
in order to buy contraceptives at a discounted rate, then billed the
state's Medi-Cal program for 12 times as much as it paid.
The Los
Angeles Times obtained copies of the 2004 audit, which substantiates
over $5.2 million in overbillings at the San Diego branch during fiscal
year 2003 alone. In total, the overcharging is said to exceed
$10,000,000 a year.
In addition to the birth control scam, Gonzales
also claims that the Los Angeles branch violated the IRS code that
prohibits political advocacy from charitable organizations by
forwarding about $12,000 a month to the Sacramento branch for
"lobbying" expenses.
At least one PPLA executive used a corporate
credit card to make Victoria's Secret and private video purchases on
the government's dime. And the list of alleged abuses goes on.
Although
the suit was filed in 2005, it was made public on Friday--much to the
dismay of the PP spokesmen, who were already facing a public relations
nightmare after tape recordings revealed that employees agreed to
accept racially-motivated donations.
We can only hope that California
responds swiftly to investigate this charge of gross exploitation of
taxpayer dollars. Regardless of the outcome, we urge the state to move
quickly, as Virginia has done, to de-fund Planned Parenthood and end
its relentless cycle of exploitation against women, children, and
taxpayers! [FRC, 11Mar08]
Related: Lawsuit: California Planned Parenthood Overcharged State Millions for Birth Control. A
former Planned Parenthood official has filed a lawsuit against
affiliates in California saying they overcharged the state hundreds of
millions of dollars on birth control. P. Victor Gonzalez says the
abortion business fired him because he raised concerns about the
illegal practices.
Gonzalez says his own internal audit estimates that Planned parenthood
overcharged California taxpayers for purchasing birth control by at
least $180 million.
He was the vice president of finance and administration for Planned
Parenthood of Los Angles and, according to a Los Angeles Times report,
the overbilling began in the late 1990s.
While other public health facilities and private facilities charged the
state between $8 and $9 for a cycle of birth control pills, Planned
Parenthood charged almost $12.
The Planned Parenthood charge to the California government was several times more than it paid for the drugs originally.
That practice occurred until former state Sen. Hannah-Beth Jackson of
Santa Barbara sponsored legislation allowing Planned Parenthood to
charge more based on concerns the abortion business presented her that
it would suffer financial problems without it.
However, altering the statute didn't address the billing practices
prior to it and the Times says a 2003 state audit found at least $5.2
million in overbilling in 2003 alone from just one of the nine
California Planned Parenthood affiliates.
Gonzalez's attorney Jack Schuler told the Times that Medi-Cal officials
first noticed the problems in 1997 and that Planned Parenthood received
two separate letters at that time pointing out the problems.
However, the Times says state officials now say Planned Parenthood was
given conflicting information on billing practices. They say Planned
Parenthood does not need to repay the millions it overcharged state
taxpayers.
Still, Gonzalez want's the abortion business to be held accountable for
firing him for doing his job and pointing out that it was breaking the
law.
"Contrary to their national reputation as a prominent charity
organization and as a healthcare provider for reproductive services,
there is probable cause to believe Planned Parenthood's ... California
affiliates have systematically engaged in fraudulent overbilling
against government funded programs," the lawsuit says.
The Times indicates Planned Parenthood Affiliates of California
spokeswoman Ana Sandoval refused to comment on the lawsuit saying she
hadn't seen it. Though details of it became public only recently after
the courts originally sealed it, Gonzales filed the suit three years
ago. [9Mar08, Ertelt, Los Angeles, CA LifeNews.com]
AFRICAN-AMERICAN LEADERS PROTEST RACIST PLANNED PARENTHOOD. Students
for Life of America mobilizes African-American Pastors and Pro-Life
leaders to call on Congress to De-fund Planned Parenthood.
[See the highlight video soon at www.studentsforlife.org.]
On 24April2008, Students for Life of America organized and led a protest against the racist practices of Planned Parenthood.
In widely circulated YouTube videos during recent months, Planned
Parenthood staffers are caught on audio getting "excited" for a
donation by a no-holds-barred racist over the phone. The caller plainly
states that he wants his donation to be earmarked for a "black baby"
because he thinks there are too many blacks already. To see one of the
videos, click here.
The protest and press conference was held outside of the Planned
Parenthood on 16th St. NW in Washington, D.C. In attendance were:
Congressman Trent Franks (AZ-2), Kristan Hawkins (Students for Life of
America), Day Gardner (National Black Pro-Life Union), Rev. Clenard
Childress (BlackGenocide.org), Rev. Jesse Peterson (B.O.N.D.), Dr.
Lillie Epps (Preserving Life and Legacy, Inc), Pastor Stephen Broden,
Rev. Derek McCoy (High Impact Leadership Coalition), and Catherine
Davis (Network of Politically Active Christians).
Students for Life of America's Executive Director, Kristan Hawkins,
opened the press conference by quoting eugenicist Margaret Sanger,
Founder of Planned Parenthood.
Hawkins quoted from Sanger's 1939 letter, "We should hire 3 or 4
colored ministers, preferably with social-service backgrounds, and with
engaging personalities. The most successful educational approach to the
Negro is through a religious appeal. We don't want the word to go out
that we want to exterminate the Negro population."
Hawkins went on to highlight how Planned Parenthood has continued the
agenda of Margaret Sanger by maintaining policies that discriminate
against minority communities. She highlighted that while
African-American women only make 17% of all live births, they make up
36% of all abortions.
At the press conference, Day Gardner read a letter signed by over 30
African-American pastors and pro-life leaders calling on Congress to
investigate and de-fund Planned Parenthood which receives over $300
million each year from taxpayers.
Congressman Trent Franks (AZ-02) offered his support and assistance to
the cause. And Dr. Lillie Epps spoke of her personal abortion
experience at the very Planned Parenthood location. After being
promised by Planned Parenthood that they would take care of her
"problem," the problem of her child, she came back to say that Planned
Parenthood lied to her and stripped her of her legacy. She said, "We
are tired of being targeted, we are tired of being called weeds and
enough is enough, the buck does stop here. If we don't do something
today, if we don't stop abortion in the African American community, we
will not have a generation to come. We must stand today not just for
our generation but for the generation to come." [25Apr08, Students for

RACISM AND ABORTION 'STEM FROM THE SAME POISONOUS ROOT'. Dr. Alveda King, niece of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., today said that racism and abortion are linked.
"Abortion and racism are both symptoms of a fundamental human error,"
stated Dr. King. "The error is thinking that when someone stands in the
way of our wants, we can justify getting that person out of our lives.
Abortion and racism stem from the same poisonous root, selfishness."
"Of course, to get someone out of our way, we have to come up with rationales for doing so," added Dr. King.
"We create
the deceptions that the other person is less important, less worthy,
less human. These pretenses help us feel a bit better about
discriminating against someone because of his skin color or gestational
age, but they're still lies and our actions are still wrong."
"The truth is that we are all humans belonging to only one race," said
Dr. King. "Racial reconciliation can only mean that we reconcile to the
truth that we are all one race of human beings created equal.
"Even
though we have ethnic distinctions, those distinctions do not separate
us from the human race any more than do our stage of development or
state of physical dependency.
"We are all
fully human. When we face this truth, there is no justification for
treating those who look different than us as lesser beings.
"If we
simply treat other people the way we’d like to be treated, racism,
abortion, and other forms of inhumanity will be things of the past."

PLANNED PARENTHOOD CONTINUES TO CRACK: NEW VIDEO SHOWS MORE RACISM. UCLA publication releases another video of Planned Parenthood staff excitedly accepting donations earmarked for black babies. The Advocate,
a UCLA student publication, released another video in its Planned
Parenthood series exposing the organization's racist vision.
Posing as a
donor, law student James O. calls centers in Oklahoma and New Mexico
and asks to make a donation specifically to be used for a black baby.
The clinics are more than happy to accommodate his request. See the
video here: [http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zwif0VMW3c4] [3Apr08, LifeNews.com]
The Advocate released its first video four weeks ago exposing Autumn
Kersey, Director of Development at Planned Parenthood in Idaho. Ms.
Kersey was caught on audio getting "excited" for a donation by an
explicitly racist caller by phone. The students also exposed an Ohio
site for gladly accepting donations, no matter what they may be used
for. Video here: www.youtube.com/watch?v=0LJVPVh5TWo.
"This new video demonstrates a disturbing trend of racism at Planned
Parenthood," said Lila Rose, editor of The Advocate. "Planned
Parenthood has no shame in accepting donations to purposely abort
minority populations. People have forgotten the organization was
founded on these principles and has continued to operate under these
same racist views for decades."
Irene Gray of Planned Parenthood in Albuquerque, New Mexico took the
call from James O. last summer when he wanted to make a donation to
abort a black baby. In sympathetic tones, Gray replied "yes, yes, it's
a strange time for sure" to the donor's rant about affirmative action
and how there is a need for less black people because they compete with
whites for admission to schools.
When asked if the organization takes donations specifically to abort
black babies, another Planned Parenthood staffer from Tulsa Susan Riggs
answered, "We can definitely designate it for an African-American."
Abortion center staff are more than happy to accommodate his request,
with one Planned Parenthood employee saying, "for whatever reason,
we'll accept the money."
"Clearly, Planned Parenthood has absolutely no shame in using funds to
target and abort black children from racist donors. It's a jolting
reminder that abortion is a big business, regardless of what the
politicians and the special interest groups say and given that Planned
Parenthood receives over $300 million in federal funding every year,
it's time Congress investigate these extremely disturbing business
practices," continued Rose. "Planned Parenthood must be held
accountable for their actions. No one is calling them out - including
supposedly minority civil rights groups like the ACLU and NAACP - for
their despicable actions." Rose has been receiving death threats for
her objective and courageous expose'.

REPRODUCTIVE RACISM
by Adua Furlow
The vision of Planned Parenthood, founded in 1916 by Margaret Sanger,
became the working arm toward eugenic goals. The stated vision was
"reproductive freedom" through legalization of contraceptives to be
used by the wealthy and imposed Eugenic Sterilization Laws as "birth
control" for everyone else.
The organization most responsible for propagating the bigoted concepts
of "Social Darwinism" is the American Eugenics Society. Founded in the
early 1900s, this organization was the sister organization of the
British Eugenic Society which embraced the white -- more specifically,
the Anglo-Saxon -- race supremacy doctrine.
In the United States, eugenics became more than an abstract philosophy.
It degenerated into an active campaign to eliminate all those deemed
inadequate and resulted in a worldwide crusade to abolish all human
inferiority. (1) The American Eugenics Society fostered the Jim Crow
Laws of the South and Eugenic Sterilization Laws nationally, the
anti-Semitic doctrine that encouraged nazi Germany during the Jewish
Holocaust, and defined South-African Apartheid.
Despite claims that Margaret Sanger was not a racist or an anti-Semite,
the fact remains that "she openly welcomed the worst elements of both
into the birth control movement". (2) Henry Pratt Fairchild who wrote,
"Birth control and eugenics are by nature closely related, and neither
one can attain its complete fulfillment, or render its maximum service
to society, without the other" (3) and Lothrop Stoddard, author of The
Rising Tide of Color Against White World Supremacy, were two of many
eugenicists who worked closely with Sanger.
Historical documents prove that Planned Parenthood acted as the willful
arm of the American Eugenics Society and developed a plan, the Negro
Project, as a propaganda program to infiltrate the black community with
a "birth control for health" campaign through their civic leaders. (4)
Margaret Sanger expressed disdain for the poor and disabled whom she
frequently dubbed "underserving", "unfit", and "dysgenic". Her call for
their sterilization and segregation (5) is well known and is likely to
have been the motive behind her "Negro Project".
Lest one think reproductive racism was merely an issue of the past,
current numbers prove the problem persists. Racial targeting by
abortion providers, Planned Parenthood being the foremost national
provider of abortions, has demonstrably resulted in a disproportionate
number of minorities obtaining abortions. In the year 2000, African
Americans, numbering 34.7 million individuals, or 12.3 per cent of the
U.S. population, obtained 32% of abortions in that year. (6,7) [ed.
this percentage continues to slowly rise.]
"Black women are almost four times as likely as white women to have an
abortion, and Hispanic women are 2.5 times as likely." (8) According
to updated census reports, African Americans are no longer the largest
U.S. minority population.(9) Abortion and population control have taken
a devastating toll on the African American and Hispanic communities
[Hispanics now obtain about 20% of all abortions in the U.S. each year].

IT’S AN UGLY WORD…RACISM.
Noting that 80% of PPFA business sites are in minority neighborhoods
and that almost half of African-American pregnancies end in abortion,
this video is designed to shake a common assumption about the nation’s
largest abortion provider.

made to clinics offering donations specified for African-Americans for
overtly racist reasons. Not one clinic turned them down!Go to
