Sexually active teens are more prone to be depressed/suicidal than teens who are chaste.
Early sexual
experimentation has been "a substantial factor in undermining the
emotional well-being of American teenagers".
Data taken from a national
survey of 6,500 teens aged 14-17 showed that teen-age girls who had sex were three times more likely to be depressed than girls who didn't.
Sexually active boys were twice
as likely to be depressed than boys who practiced chastity. "When
compared to teens who are not sexually active, teenage boys and girls
who are sexually active are significantly more likely to attempt
suicide."
