  • define delayed gratification; why it is important to the development of self-control
  • practice role-playing various scenarios of personal or societal pressure for drugs, alcohol, and or sexual activity (allot most of this lesson time for role-playing so that students begin to feel comfortable with how to say no") (PRIORITY G)
  • identify 3 refusal strategies [PRIORITY G]
  • explain in own words why it is important to avoid anything beyond hand-holding and a simple good night kiss on dates (restating that dating before age 16 is not recommended and parental involvement is always needed)
  • be able to explain why it is important to date people near their own age and having similar values or standards of behavior
