Quotes to Note

King Phillip once said, "Freedom is not licensed; you can destroy freedom just as easily by making a mockery of it as you can by its retraction."

In 1857, the U.S. Supreme Court decided that Black people were not human; the decision was based on skin color. In 1973, the U.S. Supreme Court's decision to legalize abortion was based on size and living environment (the uterus).

UNBORN VICTIMS BILL SIGNED BY PRESIDENT On 1April, Pres Bush signed into law the Unborn Victims of Violence Act (H.R. 1997), also known as "Laci and Conner’s Law."

This action culminates a 5-year effort. Bush: "As of today, the law of our nation will acknowledge the plain fact that crimes of violence against a pregnant woman often have two victims. . . . [A]ny time an expectant mother is a victim of violence, two lives are in the balance, each deserving protection, and each deserving justice." www.whitehouse.gov/news/releases/2004/04/20040401-3.html Cathy Cleaver Ruse noted: “The 'logic’ of Roe v. Wade is like the Emperor’s new clothes, and the abortion lobby stands in fear of the day when this logic is revealed to be just as insubstantial." [NCHLA, 2Apr04] Regardless of whether they are pro-life or pro-abortion, 80% of Americans believe that crimes against a pregnant woman should count 2 victims.
