California Doctors Must Report Sex Abuse |

Ruling from AG puts further pressure on abortion
providers - despite privacy concerns, physicians are required to make a report to
authorities if an underage female patient is suspected of being impregnated by
an adult male. "There is a reporting requirement when the female minor is under
16 years of age and the man impregnating her is 21 years of age or older; the
female minor is under the age of 14 years or…14 or 15 years old, and the man
impregnating her is at least 10 years older than her," said the 1Nov ruling,
issued by Deputy AG Paul Ament. However, he said it did not appear physicians
were required to report suspected sexual intercourse/pregnancy "when the [female
minor] is 16 or 17 years old," according to the ruling. The interpretation of
state child-abuse statutes and reporting requirements was requested by the CA
Medical Board. The request came on the heels of a report published by Life
Dynamics, Inc., based on an investigation that found abortion providers Planned
Parenthood & the National Abortion Fdn "knowingly conceal" the crimes of
sexual abuse of minors, "while aiding and abetting the sexual predators who
commit them." The workers routinely disregarded their reporting req’t, and many
times offered to help conceal the fact that the act itself was a crime while
offering to provide abortion services. There is also a lawsuit filed
by the US Justice Fdn against Planned
Parenthood centers in Los Angeles/ San Diego on behalf of a CA woman who alleges
that as an employee of the organization she was required to
offer medical services - including assisting physicians with
abortions - that she was not licensed to perform. [7Nov02
