Quotes to Note

“One cannot teach abstinence and chastity to the youth and then hand out a condom or put the child on birth control and expect the abstinence message to be taken seriously.  Instead, as medical providers, we need to speak of the beauty of chastity and waiting for sex within marriage which is the most sound advice for their overall psychological, spiritual and medical well-being.  What the teens then do with the information affords them some responsibility for their own actions.” --  Maria Meyers, M.D.

FertilityCare Conference Gathers Physicians Who Do Not Prescribe Birth Control (7/04) PDF Print E-mail

400 hundred medical professionals, all of whom refuse to prescribe birth control to teens, gathered at the twenty-third annual American Academy of FertilityCare Professionals conference, July 21-24, in Omaha, NE.

The health experts ranged from medical doctors to nurse practitioners and fertility counselors, a large percentage of whom are members of the Medical Abstinence Council or are affiliated with the Abstinence Clearinghouse. The conference, hosted by Dr. Hilgers, a member of the Medical Abstinence Council, featured the latest in NaPro Technology and fertility care.

NaPro Technology can be used to regulate births, assist infertile couples with conception, lower the risk of premature birth and miscarriage, and alleviate PMS symptoms for women. Many of the physicians registered to join the Abstinence Clearinghouse’s Medical Abstinence Council, the largest group worldwide of medical professionals committed to promoting abstinence to unmarried people.
