Quotes to Note

"The fetal pain issue reintroduces the humanity of the unborn child much to the consternation of Partial Birth Abortion (PBA) proponents.

"All abortion cases are based on the supposition that the mother's interests are the only interests at stake...the unborn child keeps intruding into the argument every time, and that's why the fetal pain issue becomes emotionally and factually relevant. Whether it becomes legally relevant is a separate matter."

Discussing this issue by insisting on plain language "disturbs the clinical detachment of pro-PBA doctors. If the fetus is just a blob of valueless protoplasm why the detachment? This detachment is usually not present in the discussion of other medical procedures. In a significant and unintended way, the medical testimony is a massive confirmation of the humanity of the unborn." -- Dr. Michael M. Uhlmann, professor of politics at Claremont Graduate University, former Special Assistant to President Reagan

FertilityCare Conference Gathers Physicians Who Do Not Prescribe Birth Control (7/04) PDF Print E-mail

400 hundred medical professionals, all of whom refuse to prescribe birth control to teens, gathered at the twenty-third annual American Academy of FertilityCare Professionals conference, July 21-24, in Omaha, NE.

The health experts ranged from medical doctors to nurse practitioners and fertility counselors, a large percentage of whom are members of the Medical Abstinence Council or are affiliated with the Abstinence Clearinghouse. The conference, hosted by Dr. Hilgers, a member of the Medical Abstinence Council, featured the latest in NaPro Technology and fertility care.

NaPro Technology can be used to regulate births, assist infertile couples with conception, lower the risk of premature birth and miscarriage, and alleviate PMS symptoms for women. Many of the physicians registered to join the Abstinence Clearinghouse’s Medical Abstinence Council, the largest group worldwide of medical professionals committed to promoting abstinence to unmarried people.
