AUSTRALIAN IDOL WINNER USES FAME/FORTUNE TO BUILD PRO-LIFE COUNSELING CENTER
Guy Sebastian, the Australian Idol winner, recently made public his plans to use his new-found wealth and fame to fund and build a pregnancy counseling center which will include a hot-line and counseling for pregnant women, as well as counseling and rehabilitation for post-abortion trauma victims. On an internet forum dedicated to the performing artist, Guy, who is described as 'deeply religious', spoke frankly of his desire to "set up a place that women can turn to when considering having [an abortion], a place that makes them aware of the consequences both psychologically and emotionally that it has." He goes on to say that "I have come across several different women in my life including close friends who have had horrendous experiences post-abortion, and I think women deserve the right to make an informed and educated decision. Most women never get over the psychological effects of abortion, and without the right counseling, it affects their relationships, confidence, self-esteem etc etc... for life."  "Sure I am anti-abortion but that is not what this is about", Guy declared in response to critics who have lashed out at him, accusing him of overstepping his bounds and abusing his power as an artist as well as being biased on account of his Christian and pro-life beliefs. "This program is not based on moral judgment but on love and respect, something that we all deserve." In addition to founding the pregnancy center, Guy plans on touring impoverished areas in Africa with World Vision and to record a Gospel CD as a means of expressing his fervent Christian faith. VIAGRA CAUSING BLINDNESS? – A scientist has revealed that Viagra may be responsible for causing blindness in some of its users. Dr. H Pomeranz [Univ of MN Medical School neuro-ophthalmologist] was the first to associate the use of the anti-impotence drug Viagra with blindness – his first published case report implicating the drug was in 1998. In 3/05, Pomeranz published a report detailing another 7 cases – 6 had lost vision within 24 hours of use of the agent [his findings published in Journal of Neuroopthalmology]. The US Food & Drug Administration [FDA] told CBS News that it has 50 reports of possible association between use of the drug & vision loss. A senior FDA medical official said, “We're very concerned. This issue is front and center, it's a priority. We know people need to know as promptly as possible.” Viagra manufacturer Pfizer Inc. confirmed 27May [MarketWatch news] that the company is revising its label information to include the warning that blindness may occur in rare cases. UK TV REGULATORS OK BESTIALITY – Richard Hooper [dep chrmn, Ofcom - UK’s TV/radio regulating body] has indicated that the long-anticipated new broadcasting code makes no definite provisions against the broadcasting of so-called ‘challenging material’ on public air-waves, including shows which deal with sex with animals, so long as it is in the proper ‘context’.  “A programme about sex with animals? Yes, it’s potentially possible,” said Hooper. “It all comes down to context.” Hooper may have been thinking of a tv documentary on bestiality, Animal Passions, which was aired last year. According to a Media Guardian article that particular documentary received 75 complaints at the time, from viewers who were concerned that it “normalized bestiality”. Hooper’s statement serves to confirm [that] this new age of sexual libertarianism, which, amongst other things, allows for and normalizes homosexuality, will quickly become an age of ‘no-holds-barred’ in regards to sexual deviation unless a return to a proper understanding of sexuality is initiated. Recent statistics collected in Sweden have already shown that bestiality in the morally lax country is on an increase. It is reasonable to believe that the same holds true for other sexually liberal countries. And with so-called academics such as Princeton professor Peter Singer advocating bestiality, sexual deviants are being granted an ever-increasing intellectual backing for their barbarous lifestyle.  “Unless broadcasting regulations are tightened and a cultural return to traditional marriage and the family initiated it is likely that offensive shows will become an increasingly common phenomenon in the next few years.”
