Marriages and relationships break up for all the familiar reasons, but counselors report a steady increase in the number of couples who blame pornography for their troubles.
Porn can be accessed with ease in hotel rooms, through the mail, and above all, on the internet.
Although it is increasingly viewed as a harmless, or at least, a private choice, a survey of the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers in 2003 revealed that online porn was a “significant” factor in half the divorces handled by these attorneys.
College reporter Candice Novak sounds a warning: “The main question is whether the negative effects of porn (divorce, obsession, female degradation) will intensify or level out.”
