Initial 2008 Abortion Statistics for Louisiana and for the USA

“Total abortions done in Louisiana during 2010 (8,867) were back to the same level as they were in 2005 (8,860), the “short” year during which Katrina and Rita visited our State. Caddo parish's (Shreveport) facility did 300 fewer abortions in 2010 than in 2009, but Orleans' total was almost 700 greater, while Jefferson and Bossier totals also rose, about 400 and 75 abortions respectively; East Baton
Rouge's total fell by about 200, leaving it in 3rd place after Caddo and Orleans parishes. Statewide, late-term abortions (21 weeks or older) fell slightly (0.3%), and fewer overall were reported for “Unknown” cause; otherwise, things stayed about the same.”

"U.S. abortion data for 2008 were released on November 25, 2011.

"[I]n brief, surgical abortions reported to the CDC for 2008, corrected by a factor of 1.24 for non-reporting states (CA, MD, NH), were 1,024,000, or about 2,500 (0.25%) fewer pre-born children destroyed than in 2007.

'Medical' methods were used for 14.6% of all abortions, up 17% from 2007. Abortion-related maternal deaths totaled nine."

Kermit Gosnell’s Wife Pleads Guilty to Abortion Horrors

The wife of embattled abortion practitioner Kermit Gosnell has pleaded guilty to assisting her husband at his Philadelphia abortion center where he killed a woman in a botched abortion and kills hundreds of babies in abortion-infanticides.

Gosnell was charged with participating in an illegal late-term abortion, conspiracy and being part of a corrupt organization at the abortion center Gosnell ran. Gosnell himself faces trial for first-degree murder for the deaths of a woman from a botched abortion and seven babies killed in the live-birth-infanticide-abortion process.

Pearl Gosnell was considering a plea deal similar to the one several of Gosnell’s former abortion center employees have made where they have pleaded guilty to receive a lesser sentence in exchange for testifying against Gosnell. Pearl also worked at the abortion center Gosnell ran that had him kill and injure women in failed abortions and kill perhaps hundreds of babies in grisly infanticides by birthing them and “snipping” their spinal cords.

She worked at the Women’s Medical Society abortion business her husband ran as a full-time medical assistant from 1982 until she married Kermit Gosnell in 1990, when she switched to only working on Sundays. On Sundays, the abortion business was officially closed but would do late-term abortions, as late as possible.

Abortion Business in Pennsylvania Kicked Out in Foreclosure
Normally, it is bad news when another business or home enters foreclosure, but pro-life advocates can welcome good news in Erie, Pennsylvania as the abortion facility run by Steven Chase Brigham was kicked out.

A business condo association has foreclosed on the Erie offices owned by Brigham, who has faced a loss of his medical license and discipline from several states for hurting women in botched abortions. Operation Rescue indicates the abortion center at 1611 Peach Street is now closed and movers were photographed removing the contents of Brigham’s three suites on Saturday.

The office was the first abortion center in Erie, Pennsylvania but has generally not done abortions since February, 2007 after pro-life advocates drew attention to his clinic and the numerous problems Brigham has had in other states. Notices for delinquent taxes had been seen regularly posted to the clinic’s door and the last abortion practitioner Brigham hired quit year ago.

… [T]he movers were familiar with Brigham and told him that the furnishings were being taken to Brigham’s other two abortion clinics in Pittsburgh and Allentown.

In July, 2010, Brigham was banned by the State of Pennsylvania from operating or controlling any abortion clinics [sic] in Pennsylvania, citing violations that endangered the public. Brigham circumvented the order by transferring ownership of his clinics [sic] to Rose Health Services, a company said to be owned by Brigham’s mother.

“There are certainly ongoing relationships between Brigham and the remaining Pennsylvania abortion clinics [sic]. We believe those relationships violate the Pennsylvania Health Department’s order,” said Cheryl Sullenger, Senior Policy Advisor for Operation Rescue. “We are looking into what legal action can be taken to stop his dangerous Pennsylvania abortion mills [sic] from operating.”

The Allentown Medical Services abortion business at 2200 Hamilton St. was found in July by state health inspectors found to have multiple health and safety problems that could endanger women’s health. It received citations concerning using unsterilized instruments on women, having drugs and reproductive devices on hand that were past their expiration date. Abortion clinic inspectors also found blood splattered on the walls and floor of a freezer, according to a report the Pennsylvania Health Department made public.

The abortion facility operates under the name Allentown Medical Services but it has new owners. It changed hands after Brigham was prohibited from operating in Pennsylvania because of so many botched abortions and violations of health and safety laws for medical clinics. He gave up his Pennsylvania medical license because of problems in 1992 but was allowed to operate abortion centers administratively until the state finally clamped down on that practice.

Brigham’s only current medical license is under suspension in New Jersey after Maryland authorities discovered he was operating an illegal bi-state late-term abortion scheme that landed one patient in the hospital in September of last year. Police later raided Brigham’s clandestine clinic [sic] and discovered the remains of 35 aborted babies, one as old as 31 weeks. The Elkton Police Department opened a murder investigation, which remains active.

Brigham continues to operate troubled abortion clinics [sic] under the banner of American Women’s Services in New Jersey, Maryland, and Virginia.

Brigham has a long history of hurting women in failed abortions and violating health and safety standards.

His New Jersey medical license has been suspended based on allegations that he illegally began abortions well beyond the 14 week limit in New Jersey and completed them at the Elkton, Maryland abortion center. The state wants his license permanently suspended.

Brigham was cited after a botched abortion left a woman requiring emergency hospitalization, and other cases of problems later surfaced.

Brigham’s attorney, Joseph M. Gorrell, argued the case should be dismissed and said that’s because Brigham has already been examined by the medical board on the same charges a decade ago.

The mid-1990s complaint was based in part on the 1994 New York
case that resulted in the revocation of his medical license in that state. It detailed case after case of botched abortions and other miseries, describing what amounted to a shop of horrors operated by Brigham that also crossed state lines.

Brigham would insert laminaria in late-term patients at his office in Voorhees, New Jersey, then transport the women to New York for completion of their abortions.

The Inquirer newspaper indicates Brigham also filed papers in response to Maryland charges that he is practicing medicine without a license. The papers say Brigham was merely “engaging in consultation” and he asked the Maryland Board of Physicians to dismiss his case and allow him “to continue providing demonstrations, training, and assistance to Maryland doctors who seek his expertise and guidance.”

Brigham’s late-term abortion scheme was discovered when a patient suffered a life-threatening complication in Elkton and had to be air-lifted to Johns Hopkins Medical Center for emergency surgery.

Two of Brigham’s associate abortion practitioners, Nicola Riley and George Shepard, Jr. have also had their Maryland medical licenses suspended for aiding and abetting Brigham’s illegal late-term abortion scheme and other violations.

Recently, the New Jersey attorney general’s office accused Brigham of violating standards of care for four additional women seeking abortions at his centers. One case involves a woman from Canada whose Down syndrome child was killed in a late-term abortion…

Brigham employed his technique of starting the abortion in New Jersey and he then instructed the woman to drive to Maryland herself to complete the procedure.
The medical records do not say who completed the abortion in Maryland, where Brigham is not licensed to practice medicine.

AP indicates Dr. Gary Brickner wrote an expert opinion in the investigation saying the abortion procedure “seriously violated medical standards of care and, to my knowledge, is not sanctioned by any statute or regulation.” He said the abortion “did not involve a fetus with a lethal defect or a condition dangerous to the mother’s health.”

The document AP cites also mentions another case involving a woman who was in the 24th week of pregnancy. She was slated to complete her abortion in Maryland but began experiencing heavy bleeding while staying in a New Jersey hotel room and she eventually delivered a stillborn baby in a local hospital.

The state’s complaint also states none of the abortion centers Brigham operates are licensed ambulatory care facilities, & that he has no admitting privileges at any New Jersey hospital and he is not trained as an obstetrician or gynecologist.

Attorney General Paula Dow wants Brigham’s license suspended and he has already agreed to stop practicing medicine at his abortion centers in Voorhees, Woodbridge, Phillipsburg and Toms River.

13 December 2011 — Sarah Weddington Argued Roe vs. Wade 40 Years Ago This Day
Today is the 40th anniversary of the Supreme Court oral arguments in Roe v. Wade, 410 U.S. 113 (1973), and Doe v. Bolton, 410 U.S. 179 (1973). (Actually the first round of arguments, though they didn’t know that at the time. The re-arguments in Roe and Doe were made on October 11, 1972.)

Roe was argued at 10am on Monday, December 13, 1971. Sarah Weddington, at 26, represented the Texas plaintiffs; Jay Floyd, an Assistant Attorney General, represented the State of Texas. That argument was immediately followed by the argument in Doe. Margie Pitts Hames represented the Georgia plaintiffs. Dorothy Beasley, an Assistant Attorney General, represented the State of Georgia…

For understanding how and why Roe and Doe were decided the way they were, reading the transcripts of the two oral arguments is essential, and it’s helpful to listen to the oral arguments while following the transcripts.

Due to the relative inaccessibility of the official transcripts, and of the inaccuracies in available copies of the transcripts, we have produced corrected copies of the transcripts based on a close comparison of the official transcripts with the audios

The corrected transcripts of the two arguments in Roe are posted here — http://www.aul.org/roe-v-wade-transcripts/ — and those of the transcripts of the two arguments in Doe here — http://www.aul.org/doe-v-bolton-transcripts/

The audios are posted at www.oyez.org.

The audio of the two Roe arguments can be found here — http://www.oyez.org/cases/1970-1979/1971/1971_70_18

The audio of the two Doe arguments can be found here — http://www.oyez.org/cases/1970-1979/1971/1971_70_40

We hope these contribute to scholarly and popular education.

The controversy over the abortion decisions has hardly subsided, and the reasons why are to be found in the Justices’ deliberations in 1971-72 that resulted in the sweeping decision they wrote.

Man Stabs Girlfriend 20 Times After She Refuses Abortion

Pro-abortion activists call abortion a woman’s choice, but all too often, it is the woman’s partner who pressures her into having an abortion. According to a study in the Medical Science Monitor, 64% of women who abort feel coerced into the abortion, usually by their male partners.(1)

In the most tragic cases, this coercion leads to violence. When the pressured woman refuses to have an abortion, some men resort to murder.

There have been a number of cases of abortion-related homicides of women in the past few months. Now a Houston man has been charged in the death of Omoyeme Obehi Erazua, who was pregnant with a baby boy.

The accused is nineteen year old Joseph Mike Delvia. Police have tied him to the case through DNA evidence.

Daughter of ‘House of Horrors’ Abortion Business Victim Sues Philadelphia for Deadly ‘Inaction’

The surviving daughter of a woman who died during an abortion at a grisly Philadelphia clinic is suing the city for ignoring the facility’s record of unsanitary conditions and unsafe practices.

Karnamaya Mongar, a 41-year-old refugee from Nepal, died after unlicensed medical staff administered an overdose of Demerol in November 2009.
Karnamaya Mongar died after a botched abortion at Philadelphia's "House of Horrors" abortion clinic.

The clinic, the Women’s Medical Society run by Kermit Gosnell, became known as the “house of horrors” after investigators raided the facility and discovered urine and blood-stained chairs, cats that roamed the premises freely, unsterile instruments that spread venereal diseases, and jars of dismembered fetuses. 7 Former Employees Offer to Testify Against Planned Parenthood in Congressional Probe

Seven former Planned Parenthood employees have expressed their support for Congress’ current investigation of the abortion giant, and offered to testify against the organization, in a letter released this week.

News broke in September that the U.S. House Committee on Energy and Commerce had launched an investigation into Planned Parenthood to determine whether the group mishandles criminal conduct, or uses federal funding to pay for abortions.
Abby Johnson is one of the seven former Planned Parenthood workers who signed a letter offering to testify against the abortion giant.

In a letter addressed to leaders of the House Subcommittee on Oversight and Investigations, the former Planned Parenthood workers say they “have personally witnessed and can testify to the validity of specific concerns raised by subcommittee chairman Cliff Stearns (R-FL).”

In particular, they say Planned Parenthood has failed to notify parents when an underage girl is seeking an abortion, to detect or report cases of coerced abortion or sex trafficking, and to properly segregate government funds away from abortion costs,  among other violations.

The group also pointed out that Planned Parenthood receives “roughly $1 million per day in federal-state support.” “This alone would merit close government attention as to whether or not these funds are being spent appropriately,” they write.

The letter was circulated to Congressmen by the Susan B. Anthony List.

“The word about Planned Parenthood’s abuses is getting out,” said SBA List President Marjorie Dannenfelser today.  “In state after state, Planned Parenthood is engaged in financial malfeasance, exposing teenagers to harm, exploiting women and killing the unborn, all with the aid of millions in taxpayer dollars.  These brave former employees know this must stop.”

Signatories to the letter include former Texas Planned Parenthood manager Abby Johnson, the author of “UnPlanned,” who has become a national spokesperson for the pro-life cause. Former Planned Parenthood workers Catherine Adair, Dr. Patti Giebink, Luis Maldonado, Sue Thayer, Ramona Trevino and Patricia Sandoval also signed.

The launch of the congressional investigation against Planned Parenthood topped off a year that Planned Parenthood President Cecile Richards has called the “most difficult” in the organization’s history.

The organization’s year began with the release of uncover videos by the pro-life group Live Action showing Planned Parenthood employees appearing to help mock sex traffickers get abortions and other services for their underage prostitutes.

Then, in February, an historic amendment to defund Planned Parenthood passed overwhelmingly in the U.S. House, but was ultimately defeated in the Democrat-controlled Senate.

After Washington failed to defund Planned Parenthood, state legislatures immediately took the battle to their home turf. According to the SBA List State by State Scoreboard, Planned Parenthood has lost over $61 million from 9 states after they cut tax-based funding to the abortion giant. Those states include Florida, Indiana, Kansas, New Hampshire, New Jersey, North Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, and Wisconsin.
[ed. The Obama administration is working to force at least several of these states to reverse this decision, and is even directly funding PP in some of these states.]

Seven Former Abortion Industry Employees Urge Congress to Investigate PP
Few testimonies are as effective at exposing the lies of the abortion industry than those given by former abortion industry employees themselves. From former abortionist (and founder of NARAL) Bernard Nathanson to former Planned Parenthood center director Abby Johnson, the witness of a former abortion industry employee is powerful.

Seven converts to the cause— all former employees of Planned Parenthood— have signed a letter to Congress in support of the investigation, launched by Rep. Cliff Stearns (R-FL), of their former employer.

By now, most of us have heard the incredible conversion story of pro-life activist, Abby Johnson. Abby had already begun to question her work at Planned Parenthood, but it was after watching an ultrasound-guided abortion and seeing the murder of an innocent human being with her own eyes that she quit her job at Planned Parenthood and began to speak out for Life.

The testimony of Abby and others inspired more former Planned Parenthood employees to come out from the shadows. Catherine Adair, who used to work for Planned Parenthood in Boston is also now an outspoken advocate for unborn children and their mothers. And Dr. Patti Giebink, a former abortionist at Planned Parenthood, now proudly works to protect innocent human life in her home state of South Dakota.

These brave women know the truth: Planned Parenthood is an abortion-centered, profit-driven business that sees only dollar signs when vulnerable women walk through their doors.

They know it’s time to stop taxpayer funding of Planned Parenthood and get taxpayers out of the abortion business, which is why they are eager to support the investigation launched by Rep. Cliff Stearns (R-FL).

In the letter, the seven former employees say that one or more of them are prepared to testify to incidents they have witnessed in which an employee or affiliate of Planned Parenthood FAILED TO:

— Properly account for and maintain separation between government funds prohibited from use for elective abortions and those funds derived from other sources that are not subject to such limitations;

— Notify parents when a vulnerable girl is seeking an abortion, including instances when the minor girl is the victim of an act of statutory rape under applicable state law;

— Provide a woman undergoing an abortion with accurate and relevant information regarding the stage of her pregnancy, including the opportunity to view ultrasound imagery that may have made a profound impact on her decision to undergo an abortion;

— Detect and act upon instances where a girl or woman was brought to the clinic [sic] under some degree of coercion, up to and including instances where the girl or woman was subjected to human trafficking and was a victim of crime;

— Engage in appropriate financial controls and billing practices to ensure compliance with applicable state and federal laws.

"As you can see, the investigation of Planned Parenthood is long overdue. We must do everything we can to use this appropriate step in congressional oversight to expose Planned Parenthood for what it is: a business centered on abortion and a willing ally to those who seek to exploit vulnerable women.

"Tell your Representative to take just a minute to read the powerful letter by seven former employees of Planned Parenthood." www.congress.org

Abortionist Who Stored 36 Bags of Aborted Babies in Storage Unit in the Past, Loses Botched Abortion Lawsuit

A circuit court judge has ruled in favor of a Mississippi woman who said she slipped into a coma following a botched abortion.

Daschica Thomas and her husband filed suit against abortionist Joseph Booker in 2005, claiming he abruptly stopped in the middle of an abortion and did not administer antibiotics. Thomas, who is diabetic, said she had to receive blood transfusions and contracted a blood infection that left her comatose.
Abortionist Joseph Booker

Her lawsuit states that she is now infertile, and her husband has lost his job because he was forced to care for her.

Circuit Judge Bill Gowan ruled in their favor after the defendants did not show up to the hearings. Although Gowan filed a default judgment, damages have yet to be defined.

The abortionist is no stranger to the wrong side of law. In 1999, Booker served time in prison for tax evasion. Later in the year, police learned that a local resident discovered 36 bags of aborted babies in a storage unit he purchased from Booker.

Although abortion advocates say they wish to keep abortion “safe, legal, and rare,” women regularly suffer physical injuries http://theunchoice.org/unsafe.htm including excessive uterine bleeding, breathing problems, convulsions, sterility, and death.

Daschica Thomas’ procedure took place in at the National Women’s Health Organization of Jacksonville, Mississippi.
Booker no longer works at the facility, which is under new ownership.

A ministry… acquired another of Booker’s abortion mills and evicted the abortionist in 1998 after he failed to pay the mortgage…

Marie Stopes Doc Loses License, Almost Killed Woman in Abortion
A Marie Stopes International abortion practitioner has been struck from the list of licensed physicians in England after he nearly killed a woman in a failed abortion.

Phanuel Dartey perforated the uterus of an Ireland woman who went to the UK for an abortion and left parts of the unborn baby inside of her after supposedly completing the abortion he did at the Marie Stopes International Clinic in Ealing where he worked.

The woman, according to a report in the Independent, returned home following the abortion but was later taken to the hospital where she remained in critical condition for two months after the botched abortion…

… A disciplinary panel ruled Dr Phanuel Dartey posed a risk to the public with his deficient practices and his dishonesty, which led to it concluding "his integrity cannot be relied upon".

He was found guilty of misconduct over his treatment of four women at his private Harley Street clinic involving his techniques of laser vaginal rejuvenation to heighten sexual gratification and designer laser vaginoplasty to improve the aesthetics of the vagina.

The Ghanaian surgeon, who qualified in the former Soviet Union, had no valid medical indemnity insurance at the time….

Chicago Area Abortion Biz Dimensions Medical Center Closes
We were thrilled to find out yesterday that the Dimensions Medical Center abortion facility in Des Plaines, Illinois has closed!

Dimensions was one of seven Chicago area abortion facilities owned by the notorious Vinod Goyal, and since last year it has seen a regular pro-life sidewalk counseling and prayer presence thanks to the tireless efforts of Northwest Families for Life (NWFL), a group of grassroots activists headed by local residents Maria Goldstein and Laura Vandercar.

The League was happy to help get Northwest Families off the ground last year. Shortly after NWFL launched, the League’s Joe, Ann, and Eric Scheidler met with Maria and Laura to offer advice and give them a set of signs to use during the times of their abortion clinic witnessing. (These signs direct women to a nearby pregnancy resource center, and they’ve proven so effective that abortion clinic workers have repeatedly tried to steal them!)

Plans for Compulsory Sterilization & Abortion in Jaffe Memo: Former Planned Parenthood director Abby Johnson says 'we were not allowed to talk about it'

A stunning Planned Parenthood document that includes radical ideas such as compulsory abortion and sterilization; special "permits" to have children; penalizing parents; and encouraging homosexuality dovetails with some Obamacare mandates, according to a former Planned Parenthood director.

Abby Johnson, who left her position after helping with an abortion and writing about her experience in "unPLANNED," said the document has been around for 40 years but has been virtually ignored.

"When I worked at Planned Parenthood, there was something that we were not allowed to talk about," Johnson said. "If we didn't talk about it, then maybe no one else would either. It was called the Jaffe Memo." [ Jaffe Memo — http://cdn.abbyjohnson.org/wp-content/uploads/2011/11/jaffememo.pdf ]

The document is a memorandum about population control to Population Council President Bernard Berelson from Frederick S. Jaffe, vice president of Planned Parenthood. [ Jaffe Memo — http://cdn.abbyjohnson.org/wp-content/uploads/2011/11/jaffememo.pdf ]

It suggests fertility control agents in the water supply; applying a "substantial marriage tax" as well as a "child tax"; taxing married couples more than singles; eliminating maternity leaves or benefits; removing child care facilities and then requiring women to work; compulsory abortion and sterilizations; and a "stock certificate type permit for children."

Johnson explained that in 1969, the federal government asked Planned Parenthood to offer ideas to address overpopulation."

"They did just that," she said. "What is in the memo as a 'solution' to overpopulation is astonishing. And, I'm sorry to say, it looks like the Jaffe memo is starting to show its face in our culture."

She said she found out something during her current pregnancy that spurred her to try to bring attention to Jaffe's work.

She said she found out that not only did her insurance plan exclude maternity coverage, she could not find any private insurance companies offering such coverage.

Their answers were not only alike but alarming, she said.

After calling 18 insurance companies, each gave her the same reply: "When Obama enacted his 'health care reform,' he mandated that maternity coverage not be available to any pr

ivate insurance company."

This made Johnson question if Obamacare is part of the agenda to discourage pregnancy, an agenda that her former employer apparently tried to conceal for decades.

The memo includes:

Social Constraints: 1) Restructure Family – postpone or avoid marriage, alter image of ideal family size; 2) Compulsory education of children; 3) Encourage increased homosexuality; 4) Educate for family limitation; 5) Fertility control agents in water supply; 6) Encourage women to work

Economic Deterrents: 1) Modify tax policies – substantial marriage tax, child tax, tax married more than single, remove parents tax exemption, additional taxes on parents with more than 1 or 2 children in school; 2) Reduce/eliminate paid maternity leave or benefits; 3) Reduce/eliminate children's or family allowances; 4) Bonuses for delayed marriage and greater child-spacing; 5) Pensions for women of 45 with less than N children; 6) Eliminate welfare payments after first 2 children; 7) Chronic depression; 8) Require women to work and provide few child care facilities; 9) Limit/eliminate public-financed medical care, scholarships, housing, loans and subsidies to families with more than N children

Social Controls: 1) Compulsory abortion of out-of-wedlock pregnancies; 2) Compulsory sterilization of all who have two children except for a few who would be allowed three; 3) Confine childbearing to only a limited number of adults; 4) Stock certificate type permits for children; 5) Housing policies – discouragement of private home ownership, stop awarding public housing based on family size; 6) Payments to encourage sterilization; 7) Payments to encourage contraception; 8) Payments to encourage abortion; 9) Abortion and sterilization on demand; 10) Allow certain contraceptives to be distributed non-medically; 11) Improve contraceptive technology; 12) Make contraception truly available and accessible to all; 13) Improve maternal health care, with family planning a core element

Four years after the report was published in 1969, abortion was legalized in the U.S. Since then, some 54 million unborn children have been aborted, which averages about 3,000 babies being killed every day.

Also, today there are more women than men in the American workforce. And from the year of the report through this year, the unwed birth rate has increased 300 percent, while the unmarried domestic partnership rate from that time through the turn of the century escalated almost six-fold. Since 1970, marriages have declined 30 percent, while divorce has increased by 40 percent.

Homosexual indoctrination also is becoming prevalent in schools, and many times children are offered free contraception without their parents' knowledge.

"Scary, isn't it?" Johnson asked. "What is scarier is that some of these things are happening … and they have begun to happen under Obama's reign. … 'Reduce/eliminate paid maternity leave or benefits.' Sound familiar?"

Johnson is all too familiar with the so-called "progress" Planned Parenthood has made since its inception nearly a century ago and emphasizes how the abortion provider took in $1 billion in revenues last year alone.

"They are pushing for no restrictions on birth control and abortion," Johnson asserted. "And guess who is right alongside them leading the charge? Our commander in chief, Barack Obama."

And Johnson warns against Planned Parenthood's front as a family friendly "healthcare provider" that claims to look out for the welfare of the nation's women and children.

"Don't be naïve," Johnson urged. "This memo is still Planned Parenthood’s ultimate desire. Abortion and contraceptives on demand … that is their goal. They will do anything to make it happen … including coercion, breaking the law, underhanded deals, and dirty politics."

Johnson's position on abortion took a drastic shift two years ago after seeing an ultrasound of a 13-week-old preborn baby struggling for life inside the mother's womb before being killed. She witnessed the scene as a director at one of Planned Parenthood's facilities in Texas and later turned pro-life. The abortion provider initially got a gag order on her to keep her from disclosing inside information about the questioned organization's practices.

But Johnson is not content to merely point out what Planned Parenthood and the government are doing.

"It is time to fight back," she said. "I do not want to live in a communist country. That, of course, would be no problem for Planned Parenthood. … They would end up on top in a communist regime."

Widespread infanticide currently is taking place in communist China, where mothers are allowed to have only one child. In Russia, 73 percent of all pregnancies end up in abortion.

"Just think of what could happen in the next 50 years if pro-lifers don't stand up against this organization," Johnson said. "Forced abortion … it could happen. Limits on children … another possibility."

Johnson offers ways to battle the abortion industry and save innocent lives:

Spread this message to other people who value life
Show people what Planned Parenthood is really about
    Go pray at a clinic
Reach out to abortion clinic workers
Only vote for candidates who clearly state they will remove funding from Planned Parenthood

"This memo is real … and it is really happening in our country," Johnson emphasized. "This is not just a fight we have on our hands … it is a war. Let's put on our armor. Truth still matters."

The Jaffe Memo: Planned Parenthood's Frightening Anti-Population Agenda

Former Planned Parenthood manager Abby Johnson reminded us this week of the Jaffe Memo, a document produced by Planned Parenthood in 1969 at the request of the U.S. government. Frederick Jaffe, whose name the memo bears, was vice president of Planned Parenthood-World Population at the time.

The memo lists proposals for population reduction, many of which we see tragically fulfilled today. Among them: Restructure family: a) postpone or avoid marriage, b) alter image of ideal family size; encourage increased homosexuality; educate for family limitation; require women to work and provide few child care facilities; abortion and sterilization on demand; allow certain contraceptives to be distributed non-medically; improve contraceptive technology; make contraception truly available and accessible to all.

Other Planned Parenthood suggestions in the memo include: compulsory abortion of out-of-wedlock pregnancies, compulsory sterilization of all who have two children except for a few who would be allowed three, confine childbearing to only a limited number of adults, and stock certificate type permits for children.

Abby says that this memo truly reflects Planned Parenthood’s agenda today.

The memo is, of course, kept hush-hush at Planned Parenthood. She and fellow Planned Parenthood workers were not allowed to mention the Jaffe Memo.

It came to mind as she w

as contemplating the fact that, under Obamacare, private insurance plans are not allowed to cover maternity care, something she confirmed by calling 18 insurance companies.

Almost, she thought, as though the government is trying to discourage pregnancy.

The Jaffe Memo is one more confirmation of [what] lurks beneath the surface of Planned Parenthood. STOPP founder Jim Sedlak produced, with David Bereit, a DVD series on Planned Parenthood, entitled Stop Planned Parenthood, that is available online at www.prolifegear.com

This series, Stop Planned Parenthood, sheds light on what Planned Parenthood is all about and how to eliminate it from your community.

Commentary: Media Bias Continues on Abortion-Breast Cancer Link Studies

Which of the following is likely to be motivated by ideological bias:  Reports on independent medical studies that show a link between a commonly chosen medical procedure and rates of a certain type of cancer, or news stories that ignore the latest scientific evidence and rely on a single, controversial, and now-debunked report to make the case in favor that the medical procedure?

In a, to put it charitably, questionable news article, The Daily Caller suggests that pro-life medical and research experts, dubbed “advocates,” are motivated by a political agenda after statements on recent research that showed a nearly 3-fold increase in breast cancer in women who had an abortion. The headline, “Pro-Life Advocates: Study shows link between abortion and breast cancer; cancer institute: no way,” suggests that this is an ideological battle rather than a debate in which almost all relevant research points in a specific direction. In fact, The Daily Caller claims the “experts” deny a link between breast cancer and abortion, while the “advocates” say the link exists.

This statement is patently false. The study in question, published in Health Care for Women International, did show that in a cohort of over three hundred Armenian women, having a single induced abortion was associated with a 286% increase in the incidence of breast cancer. Their report is qualified, as all such research must be: The researchers cautioned about drawing too many conclusions about breast cancer and abortion citing the limitations of their work, noting that these results were in conflict with studies published in 1996 and 1997.

They did not comment on the numerous studies that do find a correlation between abortion and breast cancer, and they did acknowledge the possible inaccuracy of their data collection since it relied on women self-reporting their medical histories, including abortions. The purpose of the research was not to determine a link between breast cancer and abortion; it was to investigate a possible link between Type 2 Diabetes and breast cancer. Findings related to abortion and breast cancer in this report, therefore, are limited by the study design and can be viewed as suggestive of a breast cancer-abortion link but are not necessarily conclusive.

Still, in light of the extensive research and analysis that has shown such a connection, the results of this study cannot be dismissed as a mere scientific anomaly.

How does The Daily Caller bolster its claim that reporting the correlation between induced abortions and breast cancer is just pro-life propaganda? They appeal to the National Cancer Institute (NCI), which points to a 2003 NCI workshop report that forms the basis for the NCI “fact sheet” regarding abortion and breast cancer risk. This report, and the fact sheet used by pro-abortion activists and others, denies any link between abortion and breast cancer

What The Daily Caller reporter did not report is that the NCI report has had credibility issues from the beginning. Dr. Joel Brind, a professor of endocrinology at Baruch College, claimed that the outcome of the workshop which led to the report was preordained by the workshop membership. He alleges he was barred from participating because his research had shown a clear link between abortion and breast cancer. Furthermore, and this is the more glaring omission by those who appeal to the NCI “fact sheet” as the definitive denial of the abortion/breast cancer link, the chairperson of the NCI workshop, Dr. Louise Brinton, published a paper in Cancer Epidemiology, Biomarkers, and Prevention in 2009 that concluded there was a forty percent increase in risk for an aggressive form of breast cancer in women with a history of induced abortion. She supported her research with two studies that were rejected for consideration by the 2003 NCI workshop.

The information from the 2003 NCI workshop report appears to have been purposely skewed at the time of its original publication, and at the very least, it is no longer reflective of the current body of research.

Point being, there is no credible basis for using the 2003 NCI workshop report as the authoritative statement about the abortion-breast cancer connection, and it is a scandal that the National Cancer Institute allows such popular misunderstanding to go unchallenged, and maintains the discredited report as the sole basis for its denial of the abortion/breast cancer link. Why would they leave it up to the “activists” to set the story straight on this crucial life and death issue?

So back to the original question. Is it ideologically biased to accurately report research that demonstrates a correlation between abortion and breast cancer? Is it ideologically biased to give women the full range of risks posed by abortion? The Daily Caller owes its readers an answer to that question. On the contrary, suppressing the publication of scientific research that runs counter to your political leanings is the epitome of ideological bias.

I agree with The Daily Caller that the reporting of the abortion-breast cancer issue is tainted with propaganda. But it is not the pro-lifers who are issuing the half-truths and censoring studies that disagree with their position. It is the abortion advocates who undermine the integrity of the scientific method by selectively reporting data that is favorable to their cause and arbitrarily rejecting data that is critical of abortion.

Breast cancer is what endocrinologists call a multi-factorial disease: It is difficult to identify specific causes with any degree of certainty. But what can be ascertained is risk. Some risk factors, genetic predisposition for example, cannot be altered, but behavior can, and indeed, must be altered in many cases. Women have a right to know the risks they can control, and they deserve to know the truth about the now overwhelming research that supports a link between abortion and breast cancer. There is no justification for keeping women in the dark about their potentially increased risk of breast cancer following an abortion. Such bias can have deadly results.

Abortion Businesses, Waste Disposal Stericycle, Fined $83,000 for Tossing Aborted Babies in Open Dumpsters

Two Texas abortion clin

ics and the disposal company Stericycle have been slapped with fines in excess of $83,000 for illegal dumping of aborted baby remains, according to documents released to the pro-life organization Operation Rescue.

The fines are the result of complaints filed by Operation Rescue against Whole Woman’s Health of McAllen and Austin after a three-month undercover investigation.
Pro-life investigators found the mutilated bodies of aborted babies in these dumpsters outside Whole Women's Health.

Their investigation had found that Whole Women’s Health was dumping aborted babies in open dumpsters. They also found that Stericycle would pick up boxes containing aborted baby remains once a week. The contents were then autoclaved, or steamed, then dumped at the BFI Sunset Farms Landfill.

By Texas law, aborted baby remains are considered “pathological waste,” something the Austin Stericycle Autoclave facility is not permitted to handle. Properly treated remains are required to be dumped in a special kind of landfill, not a municipal one like the BFI Sunset Farms facility.

The Texas Commission on Environment Quality (TCEQ) subsequently conducted its own investigation and broadened the case to include Stericycle. In June, the TCEQ notified Operation Rescue that the two abortion clinics and Stericycle had all been cited for violations involving the improper disposal of human fetuses.

Fines for the violations were finalized three months later. TCEQ also ordered the abortion clinics and Stericycle to make specific changes in their operations.

– Whole Woman’s Health of McAllen was fined at total of $17,430. It is required to make monthly payments of $385.
– Whole Woman’s Health of Austin was ordered to pay a total of $22,980. It must pay off its fine with $510 payments each month.
– Stericycle received the largest fine of $42,612, which was paid in one lump sum minus twenty percent, which is deferred contingent upon satisfactory future compliance.

The two abortion clinics also received a deferral of twenty percent of their fines on the same compliance contingency as Stericycle. However, if the TCEQ finds that they are not satisfactorily complying with the order, they will be required to pay the full amount.

“Our investigation only scratched the surface of what is really going on at abortion clinics in Texas. These hefty fines totally over $83,000 show that the violations we discovered were valid and serious,” said Operation Rescue President Troy Newman. “We can only imagine what would be found if every abortion clinic was thoroughly investigated.”

“Abortion clinics cannot be trusted to follow the law or tell the truth about it even if they are caught,” said Newman. “Time and again we have seen that abortionists have the attitude that they are above the law. Abortion clinics need to be inspected and violations strictly enforced for the sake of the public’s welfare.”

In addition to the TCEQ fines, ten abortionists must answer to the Texas Medical Board for other abortion abuses discovered by Operation Rescue. Word on the extent of their discipline is expected in February.

TCEQ documents are available at OperationRescue.org.

Abortion Businesses Fined $83,000 For Dumping Babies Bodies
The Texas Commission on Environment Quality has released documents showing two Texas abortion businesses and the disposal company Stericycle have been slapped with fines in excess of $83,000 for illegal dumping of the remains of aborted babies.

A three-month-long investigation conducted by pro-life groups into abortion centers in Texas reveals a pattern of evading parental consent laws and illegally dumping both medical records and hazardous waste.

Operation Rescue released the results of its probe on the widespread abortion abuses it uncovered during an investigation conducted from August 2010 through February 2011. The report contains evidence that crimes have been committed by a dozen abortion clinics throughout Texas.

The pro-life group told LifeNews.com it is in possession of the names and other medical information of hundreds of patients who obtained abortions during the time period because staff at the abortion centers illegally dumped the records outside the facilities in violation of the Federal Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA). The organization turned over documents, photographs and other evidence of the crimes to the custody of the Texas Attorney General’s office tomorrow.

FLORIDA MEDICAL WASTE COMPANY ENDS COLLABORATION WITH ABORTION INDUSTRY

In another victory for the preborn and the Campaign to Stop Stericycle (CSS), a medical waste company in Central Florida has decided to distance itself from the abortion industry.

John Barros, a pro-life sidewalk counselor from the Orlando area, recently reported to CSS that Advanced Medical Disposal of Clearwater, Florida made their last service stop to the Orlando Women's Center. CSS had been alerting the public about Advanced Medical Disposal as they were listed on the CSS website as an abortion collaborator. The campaign also contacted management earlier this year about their concerns over the company's partnership with the abortion provider. Advanced Medical Disposal's involvement with Orlando Women's Center then began to adversely affect the company's business.

Orlando Women's Center had previously used the medical waste giant Stericycle for the disposal of aborted babies and the tools used to kill them (see CSS photos posted on March 20, 2010), but for unknown reasons, Stericycle stopped servicing the location. Advanced Medical Disposal then entered into an agreement with the abortion facility and began assisting with the collection of the "waste."

However, two weeks ago, Advanced Medical Disposal made known that it was not going to renew its agreement with Orlando Women's Center. Barros reports that during the last visit, the driver informed him, "We're not coming here anymore," and that abortion staff had been begging the company to continue to service them, but that it declined to do so.

It has been reported that Orlando Women's Center is currently unable to find a company that will pick up their "waste." As a result, CSS has filed a formal complaint against the facility over concerns regarding the potential stockpiling of aborted babies and other biohazardous waste on the premises due to their lack of a medical waste service provider. The goal of the campaign is to lead to the closure of abortion facilities due to their inability to operate legally.

Orlando Women's Center has been in the news on several occasions for its unlawful practices, including the well-known Baby Rowan case, in which staff members ignored cries for help from a mother who gave birth to a baby boy in the restroom, leaving him to die. Read a report from WorldNetDaily about the horrifying incident here. The abortion facility is owned by notorious abortionist James Pendergraft, who also oversees four other locations in Florida.

Pendergraft has had his "medical" license suspended four times, has been fined tens of thousands of dollars and was forced to pay over $36 million this year in a botched abortion case. Since he has been punished for performing illegal late-term abortio

ns in Florida, Pendergraft recently decided to open a new late-term abortion facility in the Washington, D.C. tri-state area.

Without the help of medical waste companies, the abortion industry would collapse. CSS has been exhorting several companies to stop furthering the holocaust of the preborn. The campaign promises to continue to expose and reprove all medical waste service providers that facilitate the evils of abortion, and is thankful that Advanced Medical Disposal has ended its collaboration with the abortion industry.

Michael Marcavage also recently returned from Mississippi and had tremendous success in cutting off companies that service the trucks that are used to pick up the remains of children at the one remaining death camp in that state. This is part of the States of Refuge campaign. More details on these victories shall be given later. This is just one angle out of many that we will be utilizing in seeking God to liberate the five states that have one death camp remaining from the blood guiltiness that is defiling our land… [7 Dec 2011]

Planned Parenthood Cohort Stericycle Fined for Illegally Dumping Aborted Babies
We recently brought you the news about the campaign to stop Stericyle [http://www.stopp.org/article.php?id=9567],
the medical waste company that disposes of "medical waste" for some 585 Planned
Parenthood facilities across the nation.

In a news release dated December 2, 2011, Michael Marcavage, director of the Campaign
to Stop Stericycle, reports that the medical waste giant has been fined over $42,000
for the illegal dumping of aborted babies collected from an abortion facility in
Austin.

According to Marcavage, the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ) has released documents showing that Stericycle has been served with papers by the Enforcement Division, which slammed the company with $42,612 in fines for illegally dumping the fetal remains of aborted babies into a municipal landfill. Stericycle has paid $34,090 in a lump sum, and the remainder has been waived contingent upon its future compliance with the law.

Stericycle’s violations were first discovered in April, Marcavage says, after an initial investigation was conducted into Whole Women’s Health in Austin. While Stericycle told the government that its policy is to incinerate fetal remains, it was found that the “waste” service had been autoclaving, or steam treating, the aborted babies, and then dumping their bodies into a municipal solid waste landfill with household and commercial trash, which is unlawful under the Texas Administrative Code.

STOPP highly encourages active participation in the campaign to stop Stericycle’s relationship with Planned Parenthood’s abortion business. It is another facet in opposing Planned Parenthood at every corner—a strategy that will erode community support and eventually result in the closure of Planned Parenthood facilities.

Charnette Messe, Victim of Abortion-Cancer Cover-Up, Passed Away

We are very sorry to report that Charnette Messe, a victim of the cover-up of the abortion-breast cancer link, passed away during the weekend.

Charnette spoke boldly and publicly against the American Cancer Society, Susan G. Komen for the Cure, and other cancer groups who have covered up the abortion-breast cancer link.

She was featured in one of the Coalition on Abortion/Breast Cancer's
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G2KrbM5x2kk

She had an abortion and used hormonal contraceptive steroids before first full term pregnancy – the most cancer-susceptible time in in a woman's life. That is when nearly all of the breast lobules consist of immature Type 1 and Type 2 lobules where 97% of all breast cancers are known to originate.

As our readers know, a first full term pregnancy is the only mechanism that permanently matures 85% of the lobules into fully cancer-resistant Type 4 lobules. The more children a woman has, the more cancer-resistant lobules she acquires, and the lower her breast cancer risk is.

If cancer groups had been honest in reporting to the public that abortion raises breast cancer risk when sufficient evidence emerged by 1986, Charnette may have lived to raise her children to adulthood.

Breast cancer used to be a grandmother's disease. In the years after 1973 when the U.S. Supreme Court made induced abortion legally accessible, breast cancer became a young woman's disease.

Charnette is survived by her husband, a physician, and two children.

You may convey your condolences to the family here:

Rockford, IL, Abortion Business Closed At Least Until January 2012
Attorneys Eva Byerley of the Illinois Department of Public Health and Harold Hirshman of SNR Denton’s Chicago office representing the Northern Illinois Women's Center told Administrative Law Judge Cynthia Ramirez that a settlement could not be reached because two or three items could not be settled.

THIS MEANS THE ROCKFORD MILL WILL REMAIN CLOSED AND NO BABIES WILL BE KILLED BY ABORTION IN ROCKFORD UNTIL AT LEAST JANUARY 2012.

A full hearing is scheduled in a court room before a Judge on January 4, 2012 … in the State of Illinois Building in Chicago.

Below are a few of the reasons we believe Rockford's abortion mill has not been able to reopen.

1. The horrible conditions inside the Northern Illinois Woman's Center have shocked the State inspectors into taking action and the refusal of NIWC to take responsibility for the dangerous conditions found in the mill has made it very clear NIWC doesn't care about the women of Rockford.

2. The lies and misinformation presented by the NIWC attorneys to the State of Illinois have been easily seen through and proven false – for example;

The quote below is from the Northern Illinois Women's Center response to the State of Illinois in the legal document they submitted to get back its medical licenses.

"Finally, Northern acknowledges that neither of its physicians have surgical practice privileges with an Illinois-licensed hospital.  One of its physicians has surgical privileges with a Wisconsin-licensed hospital.  Exhibit C.  Both of its physicians are licensed to practice in the state of Illinois and have practiced safely at this facility for many years.  In addition, Northern has an agreement with a physician who has admitting privileges in Rockford, to provide admissions, if needed.  There is no evidence which suggests that any of these failures in any way endangered the health, safety, and welfare of the patients at this clinic."

NIWC is claiming the State requirements that NIWC must
* have admitting privileges for its Wisconsin-based abortionists at Rockford hospitals

and
* have a Registered Nurse in the operating room are not needed because as they say in this official court document, "There is no evidence which suggests that any of these failures in any way endangered the health, safety, and welfare of the patients at this clinic [sic]."

This  statement is clearly wrong and intentionally misleading.

The words of one of their own abortionists, Dr. Emily Godfrey, which appeared in the New York Times  prove that the abortionists' not having admitting privileges at a Rockford hospital and NIWC's not  having a well-educated Registered Nurse who could have handled a dangerous situation could have cost a woman her life.

Here is how Dr. Godfrey describes in the New York Times a botched abortion at the Northern Illinois Women's Center (go to page 4):
http://www.nytimes.com/2010/07/18/magazine/18abortion-t.html?_r=1

Quote: "And then one snowy day in 2007, Godfrey had a patient with a serious complication who needed to go to the hospital.  She called the OB-GYN who was supposed to be on call.  He was out of town.  She called Sunni, who told her to get the patient to the local hospital.  But Godfrey had no admitting privileges there, and the doctor on call seemed unwilling to admit the patient.  “She said, ‘How dare you come here,’ ” Godfrey remembered.  She looked down at her salad, her face flushed…

Godfrey called George Tiller, the veteran abortion provider who was later killed at his Kansas church in 2009, to ask his advice.  He told her to call an ambulance and send the patient to the hospital."

Emily Godfrey who worked in the Northern Illinois Women's Center placed a woman's life in grave danger because
* Godfrey did not have admitting privileges at a Rockford hospital
* the out-of-state medical director of NIWC was no help
* the Rockford physician who they claim was there to help was of no use at all.

This was clearly such a very dangerous and possibly life-threatening situation that Godfrey had to call all the way to Kansas to try to figure out how to deal with it.  Dr. Christensen, the Rockford mill owner, wasn't available to help, yet the NIWC claims in its response to the State of Illinois that these situations are of no concern at all.

Considering the above evidence, from the mouth of an abortionist who worked in the NIWC, it certainly appears the out-of-state owner and abortionists who run the Northern Illinois Women's Center do not understand their responsibility to provide the safest possible medical care for the women of Rockford and are willing to ignore or hide the truth to get their medical licenses back – the State of Illinois has seen through these dangerous lies.

Forty Years after Sarah Weddington Argued for Roe v. Wade, Are Women Better Off?
– 61% of women who have abortions have at least one born child
– 69% are poor
– 44% are college-aged

December 13, 1971, is one of the most tragic days in recorded history for women and children.

If you have never read or heard Sarah Weddington's argument before the U.S. Supreme Court that abortion should be legal, prepare to be stunned, angry, sad… adn determined to right one of the biggest injustices in history against women.

The Roe v. Wade decision has cost Millions of children's lives…

These are Sarah Weddington's own words in response to questions by the Court forty years ago — interspersed by a few questions of my own:

Ms. Weddington: Texas… would not allow any relief at all, even in situations where the mother would suffer perhaps serious physical or mental harm… If the pregnancy would result in the birth of a deformed or defective child, she has no relief.

Why, Sarah? Why would you not choose to defend and protect the most vulnerable in society — both mother and child?

Ms. Weddington: Regardless of the circumstances of conception, whether it was because of rape, incest, whether she is extremely immature, she has no relief.

Why, Sarah, would you not advocate the prevention of violence — and the effective prosecution of the rapist — especially when a woman is young and 'immature'?

Ms. Weddington: I think it's without question that pregnancy to a woman can completely disrupt her life.

Why, Sarah, didn't you recognize that abortion also 'disrupts her life'?  Pregnancy can be a detour, but with the support of family, friends, and society, pregnancy doesn't have to be a dead end [ed. that is what abortion is, a dead end…]

Ms. Weddington: Whether she's unmarried; whether she's pursuing an education' whether she's pursuing a career, whether she has family problems; all of the problems of personal and family life, for a woman, are bound up in the problem of abortion.

Why, Sarah, didn't you stop to ask whether abortion solves a woman's problems? Is a woman richer or more loved after an abortion? No, Sarah, she leaves with an empty womb and empty arms — and returns to the same unsupportive employer or school, the same family problems, and sometimes to the same abusive man.

Ms. Weddington: … in our State there are many schools where a woman is forced to quit if she becomes pregnant. In the City of Austin that is true. A woman, if she becomes pregnant, and is in high school, must drop out of regular education process. [sic] And that's true of some colleges in our State.

Where's the outrage, Sarah? Why did you leave unchallenged the assumption that women cannot think, write, or read while pregnant? Why didn't you stand up for women against those laws and school policies so they could complete their educations like you did?

Ms. Weddington: In the matter of employment, she often is forced to quit at an early point in her pregnancy. Seh has no provision for maternity leave… she cannot get unemployment compensation under our laws, because the laws hold that she is not eligible for employment, being pregnant, and therefore is eligible for no unemployment compensations.

Why, Sarah, did you suggest that women should have the 'right' to capitulate to pregnancy discrimination rather than work to end it? Women have had to fight harder and longer for equality in the workplace [because of this].

Ms. Weddington: At the same time, she can get no welfare to help her at a time when she has no unemployment compensation and she's not eligible for any help in getting a job to provide for herself.

Oh, Sarah, with that brilliant mind, couldn't you have argued that the needs of the poorest among us should be met?

Ms. Weddington: There is no duty for employers to rehire women if they must drop out to carry a pregnancy to term.

Why, Sarah, why did you accept discrimination against new mothers?

Ms. Weddington: And, of course, this is especially hard on the many women in Texas who are heads of their own households and must provide for their already existing children. And, obviously, the responsibility of raising a child is a most serious one, and at times an emotional investment that must be made, cannot be denied. So, a pregnancy to a woman is perhaps one of the
most determinative aspects of her life. It disrupts her body. It disrupts her education. It disrupts her employment. And it often disrupts her entire family life.

Sarah, almost forty years later, more than fifty Million children are missing, untold millions of women have laid their bodies down or swallowed a bitter pill called "choice", and every day more women are being driven to abortion by a lack of resources and by a lack of support [ed. and according to surveys, a majority of women feel coerced or even forced to abortion by family or by their sexual partner]. Is this the best we can do?

Ms. Weddington: And we feel that, because of the impact on the woman, this certainly – in as far as there are any rights which are fundamental – is a matter which is of such fundamental and basic concern to the woman involved that she should be allowed to make the choice as to whether to continue or to terminate her pregnancy.

Forty years after we began this Experiment on Women — at the cost of millions of our children and the generations to come — what do you think now? If you could go back, would you work instead for legislation that would protect women? For policy changes, resources, and holistic solutions that would support women? … [For legislation and efforts that would empower women to develop their ability to change society, rather than society changing and degrading them, and destroying their offspring?] …  [ed. besides, the 'choice' should have come prior to the sexual act, prior to the possibility of pregnancy; this would show the strength of the woman… otherwise, women appear as weak creatures unable to take control of their lives… every act of sex appears as rape, forced upon her, and then she must to deal with pregnancy… again, if women cannot deal with difficulties in their lives, they must be weak and incompetent creatures … this is what Weddington argued, after all, that women are not capable of dealing with serious problems and must have an easy way out.]

We cannot go back and undo the damage caused by the arguments Sarah Weddington made before the U.S. Supreme Court forty years ago — the damage done to women, men, and children.

We can — we MUST — right the injustice…

According to the Guttmacher Institute, Planned Parenthood's former research are, 44% of women who have an abortion are college-age and 59% have at least some college education. Many are young working women, and we now know that 69% are economically disadvantaged.

There is another high-risk group… 61% of abortions are performed on women who already have a child… financial issues are driving women to… choose between their born and unborn children.

These statistics represent real women, women we know, women we love — and children we'll never meet…

Sarah Weddington did not solve the problems women faced. They've been perpetuated to the present day.

Forty years after a woman delivered anti-woman arguments before the U.S. Supreme Court, arguments that have cost so many lives — we must take action to improve the status of women. Women deserve better than forty years of abortion. Let's end this nightmare by listening to women and giving them what they really need and want — practical resources and real support.

We know the truth. Women deserve better than abortion.
