April 16 was National Health Care Decisions Day (NHDD), a day to “inspire, educate & empower the public and providers about the importance of advance care planning”.
Many organizations and individuals are participating in this to raise awareness of how vital it is to make your wishes known regarding medical treatment, and to designate an agent to make decisions for you in the event you become unable to participate in your own medical treatment decisions.
The Patients Rights Council (PRC) strongly encourages everyone to make sure they have executed one of our Protective Medical Decisions Documents (PMDD)s. Protect yourself, and make sure your loved ones are protected as well!
