Pregnancy Rate for Teen Women within Two Years of Beginning Contraceptive Use is 21%
To Repeat: At Least 21% of Teen Women Using Contraception Will Be Pregnant Within Two Years of Beginning Use
The average [pregnancy] rate for reversible contraceptives over a two-year period is 19% for all women. Various socioeconomic factors, including a woman's age, also affect contraceptive success.
Thirteen percent of women using reversible methods of contraceptives will experience contraceptive 'failure' (resulting pregnancy) in their first year of use and 8 percent in the second year of use (13 + 8 = 21).
Contraceptive effectivness also varies based on four socioeconomic factors: women's age, union status (e.g. married, cohabiting, not in a union), poverty status, and race or ethnicity.
Of women younger than 18 years old, 21.1% experience an unintended pregnancy (due to contraceptive failure) in the first two years of use.1
[Ed.: The pharmaceutical industry and the abortion industry have been well aware of the "failure" of contraceptives to prevent pregnancy for decades. They promote the mantra that "increased contraception decreases abortion", even though they know full well that the very OPPOSITE is true — INCREASED CONTRACEPTION INCREASES ABORTION!!]

Abstinence or Comprehensive Education
A report has been released exclusively to the National Abstinence Clearinghouse by Dr. Stan Weed in response to a Mathematica Study (released in April 2007) which claimed that abstinence education was not effective in preventing premarital sex.
